BTD Forums  /  SWAMI Xpress  /  Anyone feeling like they need more meat?

Well I'm full on my Swami but I only get red meat i.e. beef, lamb, etc. 4 times a week.  Now that is a huge change from my BTD days when it was virtually unlimited and I feel so bummed about it.   :'(

I'm really feeling the need on some kind of physical/emotional level for more meat.  It's a kind of weird craving somewhere - like I 'need' it.

Upped my fish intake alot because of the 6 times a week suggestion and I can only have poultry 3 times a week.

I have not been eating eggs because of a current suggestion of food intolerance from an IgA Testing and I miss those horribly.  Wonder if this has a connection to wanting more meat?

Has anyone out there this experienced this at all?

I eat meat only.. no chicken or only turkey.. no fish .. so every portion for them and dairy even - I convert to meat./.

When I first went on BTD I ate a good size steak lunch and dinner.. and lost 20 pounds.. no effort at all..  now I eat a few oz'es or palm size and can not drop any weight at all.. I wonder should I go back up to a full size rib steak?   It's a thought..

In my book meat is king, queen and page.. only rivaled by eggs..

I ate turkey only for a full year / per the Geno book../ and I still could not drop weight..

I use Iodine patches to make up for the lack of it from fish..

You might look at B12.

When you cut out the eggs, did you replace those protein portions with something else, or did you just eliminate them?

It would be reasonable to increase your red meat intake to compensate for the missing eggs.

No didn't replace them.. i'm diggin this idea however!  :)  More NY Strips please!!!

I recently cooked a roast that had fantastic flavor.

My husband went off beef for Spiritual reasons, (he's an O we think - we are re-testing now), and I'm so sad will not enjoy it with me.

I eat larger portions than the suggestions on my SWAMI, so maybe you can have a little more.
Try different things.  How is your exercise regimen?

I was doing this:

45 minutes elliptical every other day
45 minutes walking the other days
some arm and hip work and stretching

BUT I sprained my ankle real bad and haven't done the walking since.  So now i"m doing the elliptical every other day and then arm, hip and now ankle work on the other nights.  I like the schedule.  Makes me not feel like a slave to exercise.  I used to exercise 6-7 days a week as hard as I could.. i was a slave to my exercise and deprivation 'diet' routines.  Now I am into moderation and sanity!!!!  :P

Just eat more of the diamond meats a few times a week, you'll be fine.

If you were craving sugar that would be different.

My swami portions are in the same ball park as yours, BluesSinger. However, because of protein depletion caused by 18 years of vegetarianism and several years of intense stress that resulted in adrenal fatigue, my need for protein was incredible. I needed red meat every day, more than once a day. Often I would have it for all three meals, and not small portions, either. My body was just screaming out for it.

Happily, after four years, things have found more of a balance, and I am able to stay more in line with swami's recommendations and be satisfied. I would say that if your body really is telling you you need red meat, then listen to it.

I need more beef than my SWAMI calls for. I detest fish, except I will eat crab, shrimp and lobster. But because of price, these are not on the everyday menu. I take fish oil capsules daily, instead. I like turkey but get bored with it quickly and chicken just doesn't fit the bill. I am still hungry for meat after I eat chicken and it is a bene for me. I need lots of beef to feel well and happy. ;D

Oh my gosh, yes, which is why I'm starting to get particular and frustrated about the lunch fare near my work place.  Fortunately I'm within walking distance of a small market that specializes in meat, and they roast their own beef.

I'm a Type O, Secretor Hunter/Explorer. (I feel Hunter, SWAMI desires me to be Explorer)

The Hunter foods are better for me but I do better with vastly smaller weekly/daily portions and less meat, more veg. Two meals a day. Otherwise I would not be as big as a house, I'd be as big as an apartment building.

I feel best with red meat, and would be Hunter if I was a secretor. Some fish satisfies the craving (raw salmon-- as in sushi--for instance) but chicken (as one person said) always leaves me wanting REAL meat  ;) The down side is that most of what satisfies is more expensive (sigh)

Rabbit and venison and beef for pref. The more rare the beef is the better. I do love my veggies though. I try to do smaller portions of meat but eat it more frequently, which helps.
