BTD Forums  /  Supp Right For Your Type  /  Macular Degeneration Formula vs. Occubright?

After I healed from hyperthyroidism and no longer needed the same vitamin supplements or "thyroid lowering medication" - my vision almost immediately changed. I am SUSPECTING that this could have now been due to the eyes still needing copper and other supplements now that I am age 47. However, it has been 9 months since I have followed BTD, and 3 months since I have begun SWAMI-ing, and no change in the slight vision blur from my ongoing cleansing.

At Wal-Mart I generally need to pick up a "1.00" or "1.25" set of plastic reading glasses in order to see the extremely tiny print now featured on the back of vitamin bottles.

What are your opinions re: macular degeneration formula vs. Occubright applications and effectiveness for vision?

I don't know if any supplement out there can completely reverse age-related stiffening of the lens. You could probably delay onset and/or slow the progression, but this is a normal part of aging. The lens in the eye can no longer adjust as much as it used to, so either you can see distance just fine  but can't focus close for reading, or you need glasses to see distance and have to take them off to read. A few "lucky" people have their vision "stuck" somewhere in the middle so they need both reading glasses AND distance glasses. Plus anybody with astigmatism is likely to need glasses for both distance and reading.

This shift in vision usually occurs around age 45- give or take 5 years. You're 47, so this is right on schedule. I advise you to buy the cheap reading glasses and be thankful you can get away without prescription eye-wear.

It would be worth getting a book on naturally healing your eyesight. but it involves loots of eye exercise and the book is hard going at times.

i have mentioned this in other threads but if you need the tittle message me and i'll get it from my kindle, although for the diagrams I would get the actual book.

Ok....I'm not well today...so let me take a deep breath and ask again (since I know Victoria has used the macular degeneration formula for her eye injury, and improved):

Who would like to weigh in about their current usage of Occubright?

I have never used Occubright but yesterday I spent hours researching this subject for myself.  I know I have cataracts but so far my ophthalmic exams show no change and not needing cataract surgery.

After reading for literally hours I finally went to iherb.com armed with a few facts so I would not be confused by terminology.  I ended up ordering Life Extension "Eye Pressure Support with Mirtogenol" and Life Extension "Super Zeaxanthin with lutein, meso-zeaxanthin and C3G."  These are being shipped, now, so I haven't tried them, yet.  It'll take a little while for me to reach any conclusions about these products.  I take plenty of vitamins so I didn't want a product that included an array of vitamins.

One thing about going online we can read customer reviews and that's helpful.

what do these life extension sups contain that ocubright lacks?

I consider Dr D s formulas to be the safest and more targeted to our needs besides ABO specific without a doubt

There is nothing wrong with it, Lola.  I hadn't looked at the formula for some time.  Have any of the ingredients changed since it was first introduced?

Exactly. :) We are free to do our personal research, and it is the MOST helpful to review customer results from a product.

That's quite interesting, going to iherb.com. In 2010 I went to "ithyroid.com" to look up recommendations for hyperthyroidism -- and was cured by using the supplement suggestions there plus moving to the countryside, away from my environmental toxins.  :)

True also, considering my recent experience with tainted artichoke extract.  :) However, that bottle came off the shelf from some store. It did not come from the company I used for quite awhile in intiating the thyroid cure.

Ahhhhh....that feels so good to use that word...

Occubright, Occubright ... I have been having it on and off for a couple of years now and I am not intending to stop anytime soon!

I ditched my prescription glasses many years ago now ... sorry, not good at keeping dates, but it was a couple of years before my retirement ... in my fifties ... I was not in this path then, but my food was pretty wholesome, although not right for me at times  (more often like not), so I owe my ditching of prescription to coming across to the Bates system pinhole reading  glasses and their exercise prescription for the eye muscles!!!  I was working with computers all day long and first time I put them on at work I have got a few weird looks from co-workers and I think I heard some whispers here and there.  But I persisted and started to get results ... Once I have got into this path, adding compliance to my lifestyle, I find that I required less and less the use of the pinhole glasses ... I could watch TV without them and read all words there ... then I could read newspapers and computer screen clearly.

I am 61 years old now and I do not need prescription glasses for reading ... and I still have not finished detoxing, carrying extra weight (which I am gentle leaving behind me ;) ), I am feeling better than ever with strong immune system thanks to my SwamiX lifestyle and my eyesight is stronger than prior to my 30s when I noticed I needed to strain my eyes for certain reading.  These days I hardly do the Bates exercises (naughty!!!) and not surprisingly sometimes I find myself reaching for the pinholes ... that is when I remember to reach for my Occubright and focus on what I am doing with my lifestyle ... so I do not get sold on age being any factor in determining the status of my health, whether it is eyesight or anything else .... I am already sold on what I do with my lifestyle is what determines my health and condition ...

Give it a try, I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone with eyesight issues, the Bates pinhole glasses and exercises, together with a compliant lifestyle for your type which includes supplementing with Occubright (if right for your type)  ... but you need to be consistent and habitual otherwise,  like with most natural cures, you will not get the results you are supposed to.

But of course, to each their own and free choice to everyone!!! :)
