I am new to both the Eat Right for Your Type diet and the forum. I'm a Type B and in reading the book it says to avoid wheat and lentils (among other things, of course). But it says Ezekiel bread is okay. The Ezekiel bread I bought (Food For Life brand) has as part of the ingredients Organic Sprouted Whole Wheat, Organic Sprouted Whole Lentils and Organic Wheat Gluten. I know the book says that because the wheat is sprouted that the unhealthy kernel is damaged or gone, but I'm still not understanding how the lentils and gluten work.

Am I missing something? Have I purchased the wrong type of Ezekiel bread? Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome gbel1975!  Unfortunately, between the time ER4YT was written and now, Food For Life added gluten from unsprouted grain to the ingredients.  Sprouting disabled the lectin in wheat (WGA), which is intact now in the bread.  This was not the case when the book was written.

Gluten is a different issue, which may or may not affect you.

Hi gbel.  ER4YT is the best foundation book, really showing what blood type concepts are all about.  Since the book is old, you might want to move next into LR4YT, which is the most recent blood type book with very current food lists, lifestyle and supplement recommendations for each type, as well as taking into account a person's Secretor Status.

I had no idea that Ezekiel Bread, which I live on, now has had glutten added!  I've often wondered why it still felt like I was having difficulty losing weight as quickly as I did the first time I did this type of eating.  

Hoping I can find a suitable replacement.

Really have to read the ingredients on prepared foods...  It is the only way to buy anything prepared and know that you are doing yourself any good...  Otherwise it is make everything yourself, which is best, but requires time be set aside to do it.

Spelt is fine for B's. See if you can find some 100% spelt bread, or look for spelt flour and bake your own. I have the best results in baking when I use a mixture of white and whole grain spelt flour, but the white spelt flour can be hard to find.

I occasionally buy Trader Joe's brand of spelt bread- not often because of the expense,  but my oldest daughter likes it for packing school lunches.
