Lola,
Can you comment on which of these would help offset the Gatherer tendency to hang on to weight/put it on easily?  Of course I am doing all I can to follow diet and exercise recommendations!  Learning as I go!

CLA has been very helpful for some Gatherers in letting go of excess weight.  :)

how long would a gatherer need to take these supplements? after seeing results can you stop or do you have to continue buying them?

Hi mac,

Whether and how long you would want to take supplements depends on what you are trying to do, how fast you are trying to do it, how 'big' the problem is and how much the supplements are helping.

It's common for people to use supplements for a few months. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My blood type is O+ and I'm also a gatherer.
I'm not really overweight just wanting to get rid of excess fat and tone up, something I'm hoping to maintain in the long term. I'm just not sure if its worth going on the supplements in case there are side effects?
I've looked into both the blood type and genotype diets and have kind of integrated my eating into a mixture of both. I have re-started going to step classes around 4 times a week as well as other exercises like walking and yoga where possible.
I'm still under 20, 173 cm tall and am currently varying between 58-59kg.
I'm mostly worried that if I take the supplements and see results, after I stop taking them I'll regain the weight and that it might make maintaining an ideal weight harder as I get older.
Thanks for the help!

In that case I wouldn't even worry about supplements. You are young and healthy.

Do the diet. Things will work.

Will you describe how you are integrating the two diets?  :)

sorry, still finding my way through these forums!
In terms of 'integrating' the two, the type O and gatherer diets are quite similar there are a few contradictions though. I'm still in the early phases though and waiting on my SWAMI software to arrive, but it's really just little things like eating lamb instead of beef where possible, having celery (pretty sure its an avoid on BTD) and at the moment I'm doing around 45 minutes of higher intensity aerobics a few times a week (suggested on BTD) rather than average intensity (GTD).
Still getting a feel for it though, pretty sure I've eaten almost a kilo of Essene bread in 2 days..  :-/ haha

Wish I could be more specific but hopefully SWAMI works, have people found it useful?

Swami will eliminate those contradictions, though it evolves with you. One small bit of advice: measure carefully. Someone should help you.
