BTD Forums  /  The GenoType Diet  /  I can't believe I didn't do this sooner!

I have no idea where to put this little ditty. So, if it's in the wrong spot, forgive me! :)

I just have to say this. It took me two years to find this, even though I've heard of this before. It took a lot of researching food reactions in my boys and the trail leading to Dr. D's books. Now, here I've read people saying that a little of this type or a little of that type fits but, that is not my experience thus far. I got the ER4YT book first and devoured it. When I was able to put myself into a group, every single thing Dr. D said about that group was almost to a T describing me! It as uncanny and I was hooked. I think I've read the book about 5 times this week alone just to pick up anything my speed reading head missed. And maybe to read up on a few other types too.

I'd skimmed the BTD book but, tonight I've sat down and really read it. Dr. D literally describes my issues with such accuracy! I'm gobsmacked right now. It's one of those moments where I had to put the book down and just kind of take it all in! Several times the hubs has heard me laughing outright because, it's almost like Dr. D has been in my home all these years! Just crazy really but, honestly, if I had any reservations in the back of my head, they're gone!

I'm sure those of you who have been on this a while are maybe not as surprised as I am but, I'm sold from here on out. I haven't even begun to read up on my oldest son's type yet but, regardless I'm going to do my best to switch us all a little at a time.

I just want to say to those of you out there telling everyone and helping us newbies little by little, we all should've listened to you sooner!  ;D

Alright off to bed because I need sleep apparently.  ;) Just thanks for spreading word of mouth, for helping the newbies and for most importantly being so supportive. You all are just incredible pools of knowledge!

are you now talking about the genotype diet book?

I believe you were mentioning measurements in other threads, no?

I ll put this thread up in GTD, if not mistaken

Junebug1978...

I think the ER4YT is the best introduction.. It is lucid, extensive yet simple enough for it to elicit acute memories of pain, or explains happy feelings related to food.  Those reactions are powerful and long lasting.  The biggest SAD thing is only that we come to BTD alone and others have a deaf ear and would rather suffer than change.  MY ER4YT is dog eared, worn and getting old looking.  I remember my early days-- yet the feelings of liberation never left me. Laugh and cry, I know just what you are talking about.  I love newbies for that reason, they bring great questions from which the answers are well worth repeating..  Keep having fun ;D

Another book that is real fun (get it at the library for a while - so that they never stop having it there - is the Encyclopedia Dr D. wrote for all sort of conditions.  Suddenly there is a bible from which you come forth feeling that you are the adult being treated -as an equal- to knowledge and help kept hidden.  Suddenly you know so much more than before.  There is peace and security in that.

And then there is one other book: LIVE Right 4YT.  It also is easy, but explains more good stuff about secrets of why we need BTD.   --- When needed the smaller Cancer book, or the Aging book and a few others each answer different questions.  I love the whole library, and even better, I love the fact that we have this community of ongoing enthusiastic supporters.  There is nothing else like it (for me)!!!

Together you are nearly home for good.  Then when you graduate to the Geno book, you understand!   Dr. D. did a brilliant job of educating millions...  8) :K)

The best part is: We never have to do SAD again and 'poison' our families (with all the best intentions :'() ever again.  Keep on LOL

Lola: Do any books come on audio?? I have a family that does not have time to read much, but books on tape might be doable.

Couldn't have put it better myself!
That's exactly it, being treated to knowledge that was hidden before.

The most wonderful thing for me was about one year later, when you see how much good the diet did for your health... that realization is priceless.

I did mention the genotype in this thread yes and I have asked about that particular thing for hubs and I yes. I am referring to the BTD book in this thread though. I was amazed at how accurate it was for me! :) About to crack open the section on my oldest son this morning because, this is the diet I will be changing him to! :)

I did see he had an encyclopedia and the Live Right book. I will be keeping an eye out and they will be the next additions to my reading list! I'm just dumbfounded still that all the answers I have been looking for the last 7yrs when I started this quest to help my son are right here. Even if you're not medically knowledgeable it's all laid out right there! My hubs, who just sort of lets me do all the research because he says he doesn't always get it, said it was logical and made sense. So, now I'm curious as to what wealth of knowledge the other two books hold! :)

Same here.  I was curious about it at first (when my sis-in-law first told me about it) but then I looked into it and only read what the critics had to say so then I was skeptical and left it there only to come back to it years later and discover that it's all true.  What's ironic is I'm fully committed to this stuff now and my sis-in-law doesn't stick to it at all.  It's probably because I got sick and wanted to heal.  I think she is just interested in it to lose weight.

Oh and Live Right 4 Your Type is extremely informative.  I actually haven't even read Eat Right 4 Your Type.  Only Cook Right 4 Your Type, Live Right 4 Your Type and The Genotype Diet.

I think people who wish to drop weight will be relatively stressed making so many changes.  I lost 20 pounds at first and then nothing.. all I could be happy with was not to gain to much.. or at least hold me responsible for any mis-steps..

If a person comes here while sick, discomfort or the like, and finds quick HELP full answers, then there is no holding them back.. even if they (and I) cheat.  Still better to have good info, rather then be blinded.   If need be -I  KNOW where to find it..

The biggest reason I stick.. (not true) is that I spent near 200 000.- for my health besides great injuranse over my lifetime of agony and pain.. In the very least, BTD confirmed what I had surmised, and it proved itself RIGHT every time I questioned any food item.. Even now decades later I am still improving in mayor ways!

For weight it does not do enough for me.  BUT even though I will do other plans, I will not sway from the suggested food list.  I might be eating less of this or that at times, or I might change the time on when I eat some certain food, but no matter, I stick close to my Swami.. I love the way I can go on-line and check the latest changes there.  --- For me BTD is a habit I am happy to have.. and to share. ;D
