I am wondering - if the protein powder has as many calories as on egg why not just eat the egg?
2 scoop has 130 calories.. one egg has 90 so one can still have the egg white of a second egg.

I can not figure it out .. I would like a thicker smoothy but the powder does not do that..

How do you do Protein powder --for O's different from all others-- .. and why?

How about 1/2 an avocado and an egg? My favourite smoothie is 2-3 cups of spinach, 1/4 banana, 1/4 cup pineapple juice, an egg yolk and 1/2 an avocado. You can even freeze portions for anytime use. I haven't yet personally but intend to freeze my pineapple juice in 1/4 cup portions and my spinach, avocado and banana in their own baggies/tupperware to have on hand at all times. With a small handful of nuts, you are pretty much set.

IMO, protien powders are nice for people who are too busy to eat "real food" or who have special health considerations (say, somebody underweight adding protein powder to other foods to increase calories.) For busy people who don't have much time to eat AND exercise, grabbing a protein-powder based smoothie might mean actually having time to exercise before work or during lunch break.

But if you're home in your own kitchen, with no particular time constriants, IMO you're better off eating real, whole foods.

I'd rather put real food into my smoothie.  :)

Goldie, check through your food list and see what you can thicken your smoothie with.
I use 1/2 C of blueberries (and sometimes with sweet cherries) that were frozen, but I slow cooked them until they reduced in volume by 50% and became thick.

And golden flax seeds and chia seeds whizzed together until powdered
and a scoop of goat yogurt and a spoonful of lecithin -

Protein powder could be added for additional protein or used for those times that you are in a hurry or away from home.
