We're having a thunder / lightning storm right now - a real treat for San Francisco.
Good, sharp, loud thunderclaps, announced with brilliant lightening flashes: The Real Deal.
We East-coast natives aren't often regaled with these here; we Bs/Nomads thrill to them.
It's been humid or something - maybe that's what's been wrong? The air feels delicious now.  :D

I love change of weather ;D
- ( that is why I feel comfy here in Denmark ;)
but we had the wildest thunderstorm last year that scared me

We might have the first thunder this year today... the light is really weird here  :-/
grey/green and mild.

Maybe one of the reasons thundershowers are so refreshing is:
The preceding weather is so yucky.  ;)

I’m sensitive to barometric pressure changes – probably the Explorer in me.

My San Francisco area friends and relatives have been talking about the unusual thunderstorms.  Kind of exciting for you guys.  My Dad grew up in Alameda, CA.  He met my mother stationed at Great Lakes then settled in Chicago after WWII.  He said he liked the seasons here.

I’m going to SF April 20-26, 2012 so I hope the weather is clear.  I get enough thunderstorms here in Illinois.  I’m going to visit with my 2 cousins and 87 yr old Uncle in Concord over the weekend then switch to hotel near Oakland airport for work the rest of the week.  I have a few friends in the SF bay area so I’m hoping to meet up for dinner during the week.  I found a phone number for a college friend in Fremont that I haven’t seen in 25 years.  I left a message on her phone.  I hope it is the right person.

Any TJ or WF nearby where I can stock up on snacks?

I hope you enjoy your trip...

Here is a link to TJ's stores so you can determine directions, etc.:

Same for Whole Foods, although I don't see any listing for San Francisco, there is one for Oakland or enter a zip to get the address for closest stores...:

I grew up with frequent thunderstorms in Eastern CO, so LOVE them...  I think it is something about the lightning correcting the electron balance in the air or the ions / rain cleaning the air like nothing else does...

You're welcome...  Whenever I travel, I usually search the area for "desireables" prior to traveling so I have some ideas about things to see or where to find nibbles, etc...  It adds to the appreciation of the area I am going to.

Heavy storms to our south, west and east, streaming to northeast today. We've only had light rain at my house, but every time the barometric pressure changes because of storms, I get a headache. I have had one all day that even an Advil, which I hardly take anymore, has not helped. Every sinus passage in my face hurts. And I want to take a nap.
