Am on a limited budget. Perhaps the offending substance causing the migrane is being released from deep inside my body, somewhere, or maybe imported avocadoes that have retained some pesticides (since fats and oils readily store toxins?) At any rate.....suggestions as to what to do about this are welcome.

Weather here is very good and not expected to change until another day and a half, so - it's not the weather either. My head feels as if it's been pinched for a full 2 hours.

can you have a cup of decaf? or caffeine ? It's the best for my headaches..

one person I know is only helped by eating oatmeal..

On the other hand .. why the question of avocado.. could it be the oil in the avocado that is too much for your liver to handle?  Could you neutralize it with lime, lemon or grapefruit?  just asking and gussing big time..

I am not sure where you are. But in many parts of the world "good" weather in April means high pollen counts and that gives some people migraines.

Something that has helped my migrains (or bad headache) in the past, was filling a hot water bottle with boiling water, wrapping it in a tea towel and putting my feet on it. That could be sitting up or laying down.  A heating pad would work too. Or you could just put your feet in as hot a water as you can handle.  It never took the headache away completely, but sure eased it enough to not feel so lousy.

It could be a Type A reaction to stress. Would you be able to make some chamomile tea, then lie down, maybe with an eye-pillow, and do some deep breathing?

You have a good point. When it comes to avocadoes - I really don't know when to say "when" if a plate of guacamole is staring me in the face!!

Thanks I bookmarked that now! AH - now I see why I woke up "hacking" in the middle of the night. My favorite nut tree is in bloom.

That is interesting. Does it loosen toxins in the feet?

I downed 2 cups of decaf an hour ago - 3/4 of migrane is gone. Took aspirin (thins explorer blood) also.  Will have some more caffee now.

Strangest thing at night if I'm starving I don't know why I head for the guacamole. I surely had enough food yesterday. I wonder why the liver "wants" things that will clog it up??? Mystery.

What works for me is rubbing pure essential peppermint oil (from the health food store) on my forehead and back of my neck just as soon as I feel the symptoms of the migraine coming on. Just don't get it in the eyes or eat it. The pure stuff may be toxic internally.

I've read we crave the foods we are allergic/sensitive too.
And that it is best to have equal amounts of calcium and magnesium.
I used to suffer with migraines so you have my sympathy.
