If I am 50% Explorer, I wonder what is the other 50% and how does that impact what I eat? For example, turkey is supposed to be beneficial and chicken neutral, but if I don't see, smell, or taste another poultry for months, it will be toooo soon for me. Yesterday I baked an 8# turkey to cut up and freeze in pieces. Today I did the same with a chicken, so I'd have plenty of poutry to last a while. But the smell of them cooking makes me so sick to my stomach that I can't eat either. (The same with fish.) Now my house once again stinks like cooked bird. Yuck! Perhaps the other 50% is telling me that these aren't so beneficial for me after all. Any thoughts? I'm trying to follow my Swami. (BTW I'm allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, grains, etc). My ancestors came from Sweden, Ireland, England, Germany, Holland, and old Spain (blond, blue-eyed). Beef doesn't do me that way but is an avoid.

Maybe you are a lot of Warrior?  My sister is an A and she's never liked meat all that much.  Any of it.  She's not quite as squeamish as you with the smells, but close.  I think she's more that way with fish, but she's still not crazy about any other kind of meats.  She had always ate her veggies real good and she does like dairy.  And grains.  My guess is she's a warrior.  She doesn't do the genotype, so I don't know.  I think we measured her a long time ago when the book came out and I think she came out to be a warrior.  Or teacher.  I forget.

It is interesting to note the differences in how we all react to food.  However, I have to ask this, are you just a picky eater in general?  Some of not liking foods is maybe our body telling us something.  But I see a lot of people avoiding foods because it seems like they just want to eat things that "taste good".  Like junk food.  My sister is also kind of like that.  She was never picky about her veggies, but that girl will put 6 sugars (I kid you not) in her coffee "because it doesn't taste good otherwise".  My thinking is, why drink the stuff if you have to kill it with sugar, and really, I think it's pretty silly.  I have somehow gotten to the point that I'll eat stuff that doesn't taste good AT FIRST to me, because I want to eat healthy.  My concern is more about my body, than how it tastes.  Now, I may sound highbrowed about it and I'm not trying to be like, oh look how great I am.   Because I definitely struggle with other issues people don't.  And I'm not perfect.  But I find people are very particular about food.  And for many times, reasons that seem suspect to me.  I'm not saying that's you, but I'm throwing it out there.

It might very well be that you and meat just don't go well together.  And the fact that I'm not picky might have to do with the fact that I'm a Nomad and we have a pretty diverse diet.  If you look at my fruit and veggie list.  I get a lot of foods as superfoods and even diamonds.  I have a very good selection of red meats.  Although I don't get it all.  My poultry is more limited but I love it anyways.  And I absolutely adore fish.  In fact, in my adult life, there wasn't much food I didn't like, taste wise.  And I'm even a prop taster.  I don't think I'm a supertaster though.  You might be.  I was a very picky eater as a kid though.

Anyways.... that was my 14 cents worth.  Hehehehe

Thanks,JJR - No, I'm not really a picky eater. I have pretty much overcome my sweet tooth cravings, mostly. I really love things made with ingredients I am allergic to (grains, eggs, dairy), but I don't eat them because of the side effects, and I enjoy fruits, nuts, and most vegetables if they are cooked right. I like BBQ pork ribs (which I don't eat) and hamburger if it is covered up with other stuff so I can't taste the meat. I hate fish! I am a super taster. When I analyze the fact that one of my worst inhalant allergies is chicken/bird feathers and I am allergic to eggs, that may explain the aversion to poultry smells. But then I am like a canary in a coal mine to chemical smells, also. I went back and looked at all the geno types. I know I'm 50% Explorer, even without the Swami telling me. But that isn't the whole story, I know. The other percent/percentages have to mean something. I have my air purifier on to help get rid of the poultry smell, but I keep belching the chicken. That has to be a sign.

The way Dr D describes it is (I'm paraphrasing here) that you're you, and 50% of you matches up with Explorer Genotype. The other half is just your own uniqueness.

I like to think of it as 50% Explorer, so the other 50% must be "Blood type A1 secretor."

I feel the same about birds.. the smell of chickensoup gags me..

but turkey cooked elsewhere is ok.. same with chicken,  but I am a meat eater ...

If I where you I would pyle on all Beneficial foods first , and then 'cheat' with beef.. YOUR own experience is a good guide.   I have reduced my portion by more then half.. over a long time, but today I can eat verry little of on avoid and feel satisfied..

follow your bliss but load up on good things, so that IF there is damage, you will not be overwhelmed.

I have seen other A's that can not do away with some meat.  so maybe eat a digestive aid with it to help it along, bless the food before you eat it with lemon juice, or pineapple (whatever is best) to give the body on assist..  ..  remeber I am O.. so my advise is squed.. :-/

I can relate.  I have many explorer problems too.  My swami was at one time explorer.  And it's only 1% less than when I'm a Nomad.  So...  I'm actually a lot of Nomad, explorer and even teacher.  I can't relate with the not liking the smell of meat part, but I can about chemical smells.
