BTD Forums / The GenoType Diet / Green tea antioxidant 'shelf life'

As a caffeine sensitive Explorer, I've given up my beloved coffee. I really enjoy tea, so with a slow weaning, to prevent headaches, it wasn't that big of deal. I have been using my coffee maker to brew 8 cups of tea at a time, so I have tea ready just like the coffee was. It only stays hot for 3 hours, so sometimes later in the day, I reheat a cup in the micro. Does the heated standing time, or the microwaving diminish the antioxidant qualities of tea? The bags are not steeping that whole time, I put a filter in the brewing basket and add the tea pouches. This actually makes a nice cup of tea! :)

Thanks Spring, that link had a lot of good information. I don't know if making my tea in quantity causes a lose of nutrients or not, but it sure is convenient !

Yes, and you would probably drink more of it. Somewhere I read Dr. D. writing about steeping tea, etc., but for the life of me I can't remember where it was. If I remember, I will post it for you.
