When you eat an avoid, how does your body react negatively? For me personally I seem to get stuffy nose, earaches, and dark circles under my eyes after eating wheat or dairy. I think wheat is really bad for me although it's listed as neutral on my swami. Very weird, maybe has to do with secreter status? Pizza bloats me big time but I should expect that since it's all avoids.

Just changed my secreter status on my swami to non-secreter and it puts wheat in avoid. Very interesting. All dairy choices are the same.

If I am disciplined I don't really have any symptoms when I cheat. If I cheat for days on end I get joint problems and piercing neck pain. I know I have a lot of other symptoms but I am very unaware of my body, pain, well, it hurts so it's pretty clear for me. Oh, and I break out, which I am dealing with right now. I am finally getting back on track after the holiday season, wow, almost two months later.

ah, I break out too. I just spent the weekend with my younger brothers and it was eating avoids all day long for me since we had fast food and not much to eat at their house. Holidays were tough, I feel for you.

Usually the dairy affects my nose more although it used to make my bones ache, wheat will effect my tummy, skin, and make my joints ache.

but anything is possible, milk makes my daughter skin blister, yet she is only intolerant and not allergic (allegedly)lol

sunflower oil effect my neck - go figure that one. and most sugars itch my head.

It a good idea (I think) to understand that the swami or any of the diets are a general all be it better than anything else out there plan. if you have a specific issue you need to concentrate on that while maintaining a general adherence to the diet.

Just like if you were an alcoholic you would need to stop drinking before you would truly see a benefit, and perhaps longer if the damage you had done was very bad.

have faith - Many of us had doubts early on, I certainly did, but slowly and surely everything clicks in to place and starts to work. After a while you realise that Dr D is a genius, albeit a modest one. and that he knows much more than people realise.

I definitely can tell that Dr D is right on the money, I feel better in several ways when I eat right.

Rachel D - If I eat gluten, eggs, soy, dairy, I get bad sinus conjestion, cough up bits of flem, drainage down my throat, sinus headaches, elevated pulse and stomach problems. Bananas and strawberries do the same except don't affect my stomach. Sunflower anything, even oil, makes my tongue and throat break out in big welts.

It depends on what I eat.  Different avoids cause different reactions.

Where to start? Actually I get pretty much the same reaction to any avoids...(unless I drank heaps of milk (which would be cappucinos...& would cause a nasal drip/phlegm...)
It seems to be a liver/explorer thing but I just have this same break out type reaction, along my jaw line/base of chin (occasionally on side of neck & recently on cheek) :-/ Just moves to different places if one heals?!
I did have 2 months of no reactions once, before Christmas *sigh* but then of course I got complacent (wish I had kept a food diary) I have of course had other periods of clear skin but seems I am usually only just healing/healed... ::) One day I will figure it all out ::) ??)

I know for sure that cow dairy makes my sinus issues much worse ( coughing, runny nose, etc.) and wheat absolutely tears my stomach apart! I get a real gut ache from wheat. :P
I have less serious reactions ( brain fog, low energy, specific food cravings) to other avoids, possibly the occasional tomato sauce, black pepper, sweet potato, etc.
