I came across some sites that claim the BTD/GTD is NOT a cure for candida. Although I may be preaching to the choir, my post may be helpful for newbies.
While the BTD/GTD works to heal the gut by balancing gut flora, the general food list will not help keep candida under control. The general diet will help strengthen the gut's immune system to keep the candida under control IF the person's candida level is reasonably low.
For systemic candida issues:
- Follow the antifungal/anti-yeast protocol - that is why Dr. D. researched it
- Follow your SWAMI (Don't forget to input yeast infection in your SWAMI)
- Learn about which foods - starchy foods and sweet foods - may help "feed" candida and AVOID them!
It is obvious that the owner of this site (and author of the book)
http://www.yeastinfectionnomore.com/ ate certain compliant grains and fruits that fed candida and blamed it on the GTD/BTD.
The BTD/GTD does help alleviate candida but will not put an end to systemic candida without Dr. D.'s protocols. So, please, don't blame the diet without doing adequate research!
