Is there a good way for O's to build more muscle?

I read that article on building muscle here on this website, which recommended aromatase inhibitors and other good things, but is there a particular amino acid that O's benefit most from?

As O's, should we focus more on leucine, glutamine, or carnitine for more muscle?

I second Christopher's questions.  I wonder about meal timing and a sweet spot for carb repletion for O's. For any bodybuilders out there, please enlighten us. ;D

The blood type o diet is ideal for building good quality lean muscle.

Regular meals consisting of quality proteins alongside clean carbs.

Heavy weights to failure in 45 minute sessions 3-5 times a week and you will be ripped in 6 months.

I train with the British Military and my brother is a body builder (natural).

grass fed meat 3 to 5 times a week...gained 20 pounds with no extra body fat...just muscle

What carbs do you guys use for glyco replenishment and how often? Clean carbs means diff things to diff people. ;D  Do you guys do cheats, or carb load?  I eat plenty meat and veg,just wondering timing of starches or fruit.  I am really low carb right now, to heal my gut.  I just want some advice for when my gut is better.  THANKS! ;D

If you're getting enough high-quality animal protein in your diet, you shouldn't need any amino acid supplementation at all.

20 pounds without fat is a lot of muscle. I can't afford grass-fed beef but I do supplement with carnitine, fish oil, and CLA. I have not experienced such dramatic changes unfortunately. Is there something I'm missing here?

It is very difficult to gain 20pounds of muscle without putting on fat. :D  Filling out can def make you look more muscular.  An ecto would really struggle with putting on that kind of muscle, but congrats that would have taken a lot of hard lifting! ;D  I have done  a body building contest and have many friends in the industry,  no they do not follow bloodtype.  I was eating lean grass fed meat daily and a fairly "o" diet and still came in too lean! ::)  But alas I am an ecto. :'(

Christopher1- l-carnitine is really good, glycine (which is derived from cow gelatin)is apparently really good at replacing lost liver glycogen after a hard work-out without having to use high carbs.  Simply because an "o" diet is quite low in carbs compared to the typical body building diet.Check out "Charles Poliquin and glycine".  Interesting stuff.

I do veggie juice and card at morning + plus raw egg and banana.
Every afternoon I eat mostly beef and few carb .
Every Night I eat mackerel for dinner.

Then Marshall arts 3-5 times a week.
I`m surprised of my body for just 1 week.
I got harder and more lean + gain muscle :)

Christopher 1, have you considered looking into purchasing a CSA from a local grass-fed meat coop?  I did that and my price per pound dropped dramatically.  We all think it is the best meat we have ever eaten, too!

This is a very cool thread! 8)  What type and frequency of training do you guys like to do?  I like weights and body weight type of stuff.  Not much into cardio,I never got that great rush that everyone talks about.  It just makes me weak. :-/

It's difficult but possible- whole reason I started doing intermittent fasting was to "trigger" my body towards muscle building and away from fat storage.  In the body building community rapidly gaining a lot of weight then training the fat off is called "bulk and cut".  But I started reading around and found out that isn't really necessary....

Check out the work of Ori Hofmekler, mostly compatible with O diet with exception of his liking for cheese due to its high content of leucine which he believes is good for muscle building.  His book Maximum Muscle, Minimum Fat & Unlock Your Muscle Gene are worth reading:

Strength coach Elliot Hulse has taken Ori's work a step further and has a system called "lean hybrid reloaded".  You eat according to what type of workout you do-- still the O diet, just rearranged.

Thanks, it took over a year for me to gain a measly 5 lbs of lean tissue on low carbs.  Just not worth it.  However........... I don't like to eat carbs every day nor do I like to exercise intensely every day- just doesn't work for me.
