BTD Forums  /  Supp Right For Your Type  /  Ginger adverse effects

I had been taking ginger for a month for digestion and realized this has been the reason i could not fall asleep for the past month.  My eyes began to get sunk in a bit and i had massively excess amounts of energy, but yet could not sleep barely at all.  I also had started a new job and attributed my lack of sleep to the job.

I stopped taking ginger yesterday and taking my faithful valerian root again.  I slept fully last night and had my best day yet at work.  I felt much more focused also.

Main point:  ginger is probably a bad thing for explorers.  At least not for me.  I can feel effects of even herbs often within 10 minutes.  Ginger wired me way too much and burned me out.

And my job is actually awesome when i sleep at night!

Wow! Do you have SWAMI? I'm an O/Explorer and it is a diamond for me. You may do better with it earlier in the day if it a beneficial or diamond. Glad you are sleeping now; the days are long when we don't sleep well! :)

Hence Dr. D's recommendations for Explorers to start with lower amount of anything.

I began a new job where initially it can be stressful before you learn what is going on because it moves fast...i think the stress plus the energizing effect of ginger on me kept me up all night!

But i slept great last night because i had one for the morning only.

I was taking like 1 capsule 3 times a day with meals.  The recommended dose for the bottle was 2 a day, so i think i was definatly overdoing it for my system.

Yerba Mate Tea does the same thing for me. Apparently, causes a major adrenalin rush.

The first few times I tried Yerba Matte it relaxed me. Now it makes my pulse go too fast and I feel anxious. Had some before bed last night and now I'll give it up. It's a neutral but highly recommended with my genoharmomics food combinations. Too bad as it looked promising.
