Hi, I have been told that the blood type diet is very good so I am thinking of giving it a try.
I am type b and i mostly eat chicken so I dont know what meat I will eat to replace the chicken,any ideas

Can you share with us which book you are currently utilizing?  If you can find it, grass fed beef is also another choice.

Fish is good and if you can find it goat is also. Don't forget the right type of dairy and eggs. The right types of beans are good also. It's great once you get used to it, most of the other types get jealous of our food lists.

rasher, I was raised on chicken, since my grandmother kept a flock of them.  She was a type B also, and died from a stroke.  Dr. D has told us that there is a correlation between chicken consumption by our blood type and suffering from strokes.   :-/

The Internet, especially this site, has a lot of information about the diet(s), but the books contain many tidbits of information that don't make it to the website - at least in the same context...  

If money is tight now, you might try to borrow the books from a library for the initial reading, or look for used.  I refer to the books quite regularly for information for myself or when helping others with questions...

PS.  I also grew up raising and eating chicken...  My dad (AB) had a stroke and kept having small strokes(TIAs), until I reminded Mom about the connection to chicken.  Since she has removed chicken from his diet, he has been stroke / TIA free.

You can eat turkey, beef, fish, lamb, dairy products, and beans.

If you're looking to replace your usual chicken recipes, substitute turkey. You can buy turkey parts, rather than whole turkeys, if that makes meal planning easier. If you're looking for ready-made meals in restaurants and such, then it may be easier to find beef, fish and vegetarian alternatives (be careful which beans you select!) since turkey is a bit harder to find in prepared foods.

The best thing is to do most of your own cooking so you can control the ingredients. If that's not possible right now, you can still make big improvements by selecting ready-made foods that are free of obvious avoids, such as beef instead of chicken and potatoes instead of corn.

Yes, I definitely have some "B envy!" Especially when I look at their list of cheeses!

Welcome. I agree, the books are a great reference. I continually refer to my library of Dr. D's books but their is a wealth of info available here as well and lots of friendly, helpful people.

WELCOME!  As has been said, turkey is a fantastic alternative to chicken for B's.  There are many other meats you can substitute also.

The Blood Type Diet is awesome.  Again, welcome, and keep us posted on how you are doing with the diet.  Feel free to ask any questions you may have, too.   :)

My grandmother kept a flock of chickens and also died from a stroke. Her eldest daughter, my aunt, died from a stroke though diabetes and heart problems where what originally put her in the hospital. Their blood types are unknown to me. My mother, the youngest child, is an O and like her father shows signs of greatly out living her mother, sister, and brother(heart attack) in terms of years.

Hi, I have been doing the diet for about 10 days now and I am getting terrible pains in my stomach is this a part of not eating foods that you have been eating. If anyone knows about this could you please let me know. Its so uncomfortable.

changes... in your GI tract--- try and get the books.. Eat Right for your type and Live Right  for your type.

I do no trust any of the info on the internet unless it comes from this site.

Try slowly adding new foods and eliminating the old.  Drink lots of water.  Drink green tea.  Your system is cleaning itself out.

As you clean garbage out of the system, you can have pain in the digestive tract...  Some of it may be gassiness from hard to digest garbage, some of it may be stripping lectins from intestine walls and healing same, some of it may be from introducing new foods to rapidly and not having the proper flora/enzyme balance to digest them efficiently.

The protocol Lola linked is helpful, as well as per type probiotics...
