If you saw certain pre-made/process/packaged foods for sale that followed the Blood Type Diet, would you buy them?

(Okay guys, come up with your fantasy foods you want in your hands.)

In the grocery store?
Gas station corner store?
A specialty store, like a health food or supplement store?
Online?
A kiosk at a mall?

Possible items:
powdered drink mix, tea,

candy, candy bar, snack chips, chips you dip, dipping sauces or ingredient bags,

burritos, sandwich wraps, sandwiches (hot and/or cold), frozen meal,

box with dry ingredients you add water to, canned soup/food,

pastry, freshly made salad/vegetables/fruit, cooked meat/vegetables, prepared food you took home to cook.

For me anything with on expiration label is nearly not ever eaten.. BUT when I visit the store in CT well then I come home with some limited goodies..

I am liking carrot juices when fresh, dark chocolate is already available, and now I am even allowed the occasional hot chocolate, rice pudding, on egg omelet .. 'I am good'..

So for my adherence to BTD in general is not making me look for much when out of the house.. inside there is nothing that is not fresh..

Snack options would be nice.  Compliant veggie chips made with compliant oils.  Sauces and dips.  Compliant cookies.  :)

I'd also love to see a fast food restaurant with organic BTD menu.

Maybe some meat jerky without questionable preservatives and seasoning for us carnivores  ;D

Canned fish in water or pure olive oil (with or without sea salt).

Lots of varieties in Unibars-type snacks  ;D

Trial mixes with pre-soaked nuts!!!! (Would that be too much work? LOL!)

Pure hot cocoa drinks, yerba mate and green tea.

Small portable packages of agave sugar/vegetable glycerine/sea salt/Brewer's Yeast in the condiment section  ;)

I would buy compliant bread if I could find it.  Also, I would buy compliant almond or rice milk.  I miss both of those things and am too lazy to make the bread.  I made the milk once and it was pretty good, but not sure if I will continue with that.

I'm not much of a snacker, so nuts, rice cakes with nut butters and fruit are good for snacks for me.

I probably wouldn't buy it, only because  packaged foods tend to be much more expensive than ingredients, but I might buy them for special treats.

Here are the things I would love to see ready-made [b]and certified kosher.[/n]

1) Beef and/or turkey jerky that's safe for an O nonnie (the only kosher ones I can find have wheat and soy in them.)

2) Hot dogs (for occasional treats.)

3) Hummus/bean spread (I've been buying hummus for DD1 but I suspect she shouldn't have garbonzo beans. Bean dip/spread from other beans requires making it myself, which I haven't yet experimented with.)

4) Chocolate bars without sugar (agave is fine) or vanilla!

5) Almond milk in a shelf-stable box. (this one I really would buy, for DD1 to take to camp.)

5) sweet potato chips (or other non-potato, non-corn crunchy snacks.)

Frozen meals for my college aged son.  This is his biggest gripe out this diet.  He is extremely busy, as are all of us, and just grabbing a frozen meal and heating in the microwave at school would be a great help.  But, this would require a TON of infrastructure, employees, and investment.  Someone could make a fortune, but the upfront cost is the thing.

I would love compliant meat jerkies, veggie chips with friendly with compliant herbs and oils. Are you interested in starting a business doing this? I believe there would be a market for this like when the Zone diet came out and you could buy their products in HFS and place like Wegman's.
But...start up costs as mentioned would be high. Great idea if someone has the energy and capital to invest!

I'd suggest starting with a few simple foods, with things that are good for as many blood types and genotypes at once as possible. Chocolate sweetened with agave and with no vanilla added would probably be OK for everybody who's allowed chocolate. A carob bar that's free of grains and dairy would be wonderful too!

Veggie chips should be fried in olive oil, as I think that's beneficial or diamond for every single blood type and genotype. Make a variety with just sea salt added, as some of the fun flavors may include spices that some can't have.

If you're going to make jerkey, start with turkey as most types can have that, and stick to seasonings that are good for most types (salt and some herbs; no soy sauce!!!)

Ruthie, I did find chocolate bars sweetened with agave syrup.  They are quite bitter.  The brand is "Stirs the Soul", I think . . .

OK, I just did a websearch for "stirs the soul" chocolate and found them.  There are a few different products I could eat- the dark and lavendar agave sweetened bars, and the "single origins" varieties that have chocolate, agave, and salt. I don't see any mention on the website of kosher certification, but I just emailed the company to find out.

It's also very pricey, at about $3 a ounce. I can buy unsweetened baking chocolate for less than $4 for an 8oz box.

Yes - it is very pricey.  I only eat it as a very special treat.  Given that they are fairly bitter, although I have not tried all of the varieties, I think the unsweetened baking chocolate is a good idea.

I can find Ghirardelli 100% cocao unsweetened chocolate baking bar here. It tastes so good, rich and intense, almost like it's sweetened but it's not!

I have been using organic cocoa powder and/or nibs for years. On SWAMI chocolate shows up under the spices section.
I believe that would be the cocoa powder. Lots of fat in chocolate bars that may not be compliant. There are lots of recipes on the net to make truffles/treats with cocoa powder and substitute compliant fats, nuts, flavour etc...Just last night I found a great one in the recipe center - "Kate's Walnutty Chocolate". Flax is a neutral for me and chia is a bennie so I will make it with chia and my pecan & goji berries which are both diamonds. I will make little balls and place them in my silicone mini muffin pan and freeze. BTW : The TCM doctor said that goji berries should be simmered for 10 minutes before consuming and that they are good for the stomach! It is a dried fruit after all and should be rehydrated. Easier on the digestive tract.

just make sure these are clean sources, meaning they contain no added sugars or oils in the dehydration process.....most use corn or soy oils and add normal sugar to their dried fruits

The chocolate bars I buy only have cocoa butter as a fat source in them. Since "chocolate" is listed on SWAMI, not just "defatted cocoa powder" I assume that this rating covers the whole food, including the cocoa butter.

I'm an O. I do well on fats.

I've made peanut butter cups.  Just melt a little chocolate and spread it into a candy molds or mini muffin papers/foils and put it in the fridge.  When it's hard, spread peanut butter inside, put more melted chocolate on top, and place back in the fridge.  Since you can choose all the ingredients, you can make them compliant.  Chocolate or carob, peanut butter or almond butter, etc.  I made some for my mom that were dark chocolate filled with sunflower seed butter and raspberry jelly.

FAUX peanut butter cups. The only peanut butter I have is an Avoid.
FAUX twinkies - made with all beneficial B ingredients! Wow!

What a great idea! I'll try using almond butter or tahini with some seeds next time I make chocolate! Cool!!!

I’d be thrilled to find compliant snacks at airport concessions.  Once in a while I run across a gourmet or fresh market.  O’Hare is putting in a hydroponic garden where some of the restaurants will serve fresh fruit & vegetables and use fresh herbs in their creations.  If there was a concession that served BTD friendly sandwiches, wraps or salads that would be cool too.

Compliant jerky would be nice.  I looked at buffalo jerky yesterday at Trader Joe's but it had soy sauce and wheat, and I forget what else - lots of avoids.  :(

Peanut butter cups sound good, too, but I would have to substitute almond butter.  I may try that, that's doable.  But not really convenient.   ;)

Yeah, if I could find agave sweetened dark chocolate almond butter cups, I'd buy them! Compliant jerky would be even more useful (but if it wasn't kosher, it would be useless to me.) I should probably email the people who do make the kosher jerkey and request  a gluten-free, soy-free version.

Oh yeah absolutely.  Even though I'm strict and don't eat snacks during the day I would buy anything that is bt specific as desserts to go with my meal.  I lovvve sweets.

Snacks would be great but I would LOVE BTD compliant instant noodles - perfect for the cold, winter day or when you are too tired to cook and feel a cold coming on.

We can have bone or veggie broth soup base with brown rice noodles, sea salt, etc. and none of the MSG like other noodles!
