I've recently calculated that I do in fact drink 1 GALLON of liquid each day!

1 cup = 8 ounces. 16 cups x 8 ounces = 128 ounces (1 Gallon)
My first half gallon is with Green Tea:

I do a quart (4 cups) with breakfast, and another quart before lunch.

Although people say caffeine is a diuretic, I don't notice this effect with TEA. However, I've certainly felt this with coffee.

The remaining 2 quarts (half gallon) I drink through out the afternoon--usually herbal teas. Evening is capped off with mineral water (good for type Os I think : )

I live in a cold country so I drink to taste  ;D
=
about 8 cups a day;
3 cups tea( mainly green), 1 cup coffe
rest is water.
In summer I might drink 2-4 cups more if it is hot

I used to drink LOTS - but that put too much preassure on my bladder and I peed all my vitamins out. :o

I try to stick to this formula.  Most being water.
2nd place is seltzer, 3rd is Green Tea bc the
Caffeine bothers my stomach.
1 oz for every 2 lbs
Works out to be approx 95 oz of water.
So about 12 cups

I am coming to the conclusion that drinking loads of water washes out to many minerals.. I am about to embark on drinking much more green leavy juices or carrot juice mixed with water.. for a change thus add to my store of healthy minerals...

I think the idea of endless drinking water is misleading.. and not natural.. AND for any kind of sick people it is even harmful.. the color of urine tells me what to do..

I voted 8 cups / 2 Quarts.  I think I hit that amount if I'm being conscientious.  I drink green tea in the a.m., and try to remember to drink a glass of water periodically.  I don't really enjoy slugging down water.  Green tea is a diuretic for me too!

I voted "don't know"  because it varies too much. Sometimes I will drink up to a gallon while doing yard work and sweating enormously. I drink less when I don't sweat so much.

It varies from day to day. If it's hot out, I drink more. If I'm not feeling well, I usually tend to drink more and eat less. If I'm detoxing, I drink more. I drink more after sweating through exercise.

I'll drink less on cold days when I'm not very physically active.

It's only in the beginning when you start drinking water that you go to the bathroom a lot. After a few weeks, your body gets used to it and you don't live in the bathroom anymore.

I have to drink at least 44oz to keep away UTI's but I slacked off on my vacation and I got a really bad UTI. It's common in M.  I've had them since I was 7. I always have to force myself to drink water. I used to drink seltzer and that was great because I liked the taste. Then I started getting a stomach ache from the seltzer after a few years. Found out seltzer is an avoid for A's. Now I know why.

For those on metric, 1 quart = 1 litre.

I Always have Two glass of water in the morning and one at night before i go to bed.

during the day i drink around 2 mugs of green tea for my liquid. Whenever I'm thirsty i drink but that's rare these days.

the rest of my intake comes from food.

Agree.  Dr. Howard Murad, a Hollywood derm, wrote a book called The Water Secret; he says it is important/healthier to eat raw fruits and vegetables for their water content, not actually drink water.

I agree, I think drinking tons of liquids does more harm than good.

I have been drinking 1/2 my weight in ounces of liquid  a day, for years I just recently got it down to 1 gallon a day, at one time it was 20 cups a day, feel so much better at 249, instead of 372 3/4.

Water is & always has been my drink of choice...I drink about 2 1/2 - 3 qts. a day, unless I'm outside & it's insanely hot (so, all summer  ::)  )then it's closer to a gallon.  I occasionally add in decaf peppermint or green tea.

It varies, but I voted 2 quarts, which would be a minimum for me.

Make sure to add a pinch of good sea salt to drinking water.  Otherwise water doesn't properly hydrate
the cells.

Read what can happen to hypertensives who lower their salt intake

This probably belongs on another thread, but look at the disconnect in getting accurate information.

I put a gallon.  ½ of that is with green tea.  I put 1 tea bag in 16 oz of water.  The other ½ is spring water.

I put a Gallon.  This is the norm for me (sometimes more).  I work hard all day and workout at the gym most days.  I filter all my water too.  No chlorine or fluorine.  To combat the washing away of minerals I just add a shot of liquid trace minerals.   :)

Have a blessed day!

A doctor told me to drink half my weight in ounces, plus an extra ounce for every vice, such as alcohol, coffee, smoking (none of which I do), because they are dehydrating.

Dr. Oz says that if your urine smells too strong, you probably aren't drinking enough water. He did a TV show one day recently where each audience member had peed in a little cup and then smelled it during the show. One lady's smelled so strong that he said it was really concentrated and she definately was not getting enough to drink. I watch Dr. Oz every day and take notes. Entertaining and educational.

i voted 4 cups, but really about 6 is closer to truth, but that wasn't an option.
I have also read that the darker your urine the more dehydrated you are.

Agreed. I had to switch to tap water instead of my distilled recently. My body told me to drink less of it because of all the additives in it. Am wondering if Nonnies retain more water than Secretors.
