I have tendonitis in both of my feet. :'(  I am type O blood. I am not getting results from R.I.C.E. Rest, ice, compress, elevation. Any ideas are welcome.

I have a bad knee.  When t acts up I take Bromelain for inflammation & rub Topricin cream on it for the pain.

A good, comfy pair of shoes that you wear all the time? I had feet issues for the past nine months. Keeping a pair of shoes on all the time helped. I also modified my diet a lot in the last six months. I am now able to walk barefoot again. Hopefully my fingers, ankles and wrists follow suit. ;)

Ice will limit blood flow to the area and delay healing.

Ice is good for the firstt 24-48 hours after an injury, and heat is a better choice after 2-3 days. There's an adjustment period in the middle there where you may prefer heat, you may prefer cold, or you may want to alternate the two. See what feels best.

What's your diet like, and if you're new to BTD, how long have you been on it?

i am the tendonitis queen! If it is possible to have tendonitis somewhere... i have had it...

as an O, you should really make sure you are not eating potatoes. Potatoes cause inflammation (my honey, an O+ hunter, thought i was crazy...but getting rid of potatoes really helped his bad knees, and fast!)

Since it is in your feet, you will need to have proper arch support... in fact, it is in your best interest to get proper orthotics from a podiatrist. They can be expensive, but it is one of best things you can do for your feet. The average person walks about 10000 steps a day! That's a lot of walking.

Heat 10-15 min, then ice 10min, Heat 10-15 minutes, then ice 10 min. Always finish with ice, but it is important that it is both.

Supplements that are helpful to healing tendonitis... Vit C (1000mg 2-3x / day). Calcium & magnesium (1500mg Cal, 750 mg mag / day). Omega 3 (1000mg 3x / day). Vit D 2000 IU / day. Glucosamine + Chondroitin about 1500mg / day (usually 3 - 4 capsules per day depending on the brand). This is all in addition to eating well/properly. You are healing your body, you will need extras.

Rest. Stay off your feet, with them raised if possible. I know this will be impossible, but every time i have had tendonitis... it's always 2 weeks rest / no activity, etc... 2 weeks no walking won't happened, but try as much as possible.

Get a massage on your feet. The therapist will be able to help break up and knots or trigger points that are interfering as well as increase the blood flow.
As well, ask for stretches/exercises that you can do for your feet.
