i'm an O but hubby's a B and i would like to  make spaghetti and chili but i can have tomatoes but he can't. anyone know any good substitutes or have recipes for B's?

If you do a search in the Recipe data base you will find recipes like Mock Marinara Sauce and untomato tomato sauce. Blended jarred pimentos usually comes up when a sub for tomatoes is requested.

The no-tomato tomato sauce is pretty good. It takes a little getting used to, but it's not a bad sub especially if you use herbs and garlic with it, and good quality olive oil.

Rice pasta tossed with Pesto (made with walnuts or macadamia nuts instead of pine nuts) and sprinkled with Romano cheese!!

Mmm, my favorite Victoria =) We make ours with homegrown 'Opal' basil and walnuts, it's pure heaven.

I like spelt or rice noddles (steaming hot!!) then toss through parmesan, parsley, garlic, chilli and coriander leaf with spring onions too.

To dress we use a good amount of olive oil, lime or lemon juice and sea salt.

Mix thru seafood or eat as is.

Well the good thing about beeing a B ( and for me a swami Nomad ) is that I can do the creamy sauces.

When I eat pasta( try to avoid it) I use speltpasta I like the flavor and texture the best.
Right now a combo of tiny cubes of zuccini, garlic ,onion herbs, butter or cream and lots of cheese is my favourite.

In chilies or meatsauces I often use a combo of beet, carrots, red peppers, cellery as well as a little apple cider
Tomatoes contains apple acid so you can play around with flavours a bit.

I have also made pretty good subsitutes with a combo of large red plums and red peppers cooked together with herbs and onions and pureed .

You could make one dish of pasta, and then serve two options for sauce: tomato  for you and a cream sauce for him. This is less work if you only make one sauce fresh each time, serving the alternate from the  fridge, reheated.

You can both eat turkey and beef, and either one (or both mixed together) e makes good meatballs. Cook meatballs in gravy- beef or turkey broth thickened with arrowroot or rice flour.

For chilli, use white beans (great northern or similar), green peppers, ground beef and/or turkey, and plenty of spices. Serve over rice or cook it with rice already in it if you want it extra thick.
