BTD Forums  /  Testimonials  /  Thyroid values normal yet again!

This is by no mean trivial!!! When I started BTD in Feb 2006 I had been suffering from hypothyroidism for say 15 years, and within less than 2 years on BTD, one day my thyroid tests values became normal, which was the biggest surprise and unheard of. What could my GP say, having tried for long years to put me on thyroxin, unsuccessfully? He just clammed up. Now after the ordeals I underwent in the past 3 years (incl. CRT and 2 huge gut operations), apparently/evidently many of my systmes were shaken and thrown out of balance, and my TSH value soared accordingly. To my great surprise, and much more important to my great happiness, my bloodwork of 2 weeks ago showed free T4 and TSH values which are completely normal. Now this is for the second time round! Today I've visited my oncologist, a very sweet and scholarly lady, and she was sure this was due to medications. I assured her that it was all and only BTD/GTD doing, and that there's no need to believe it - just to watch the results and realize, like I'd found it hard to believe the first time round, when I had put the results on my desk and peeped inside from time to time, to make sure I had been seeing right.

Oh yes, do that first. Mine was taken out so I have no choice but be on the stupid pills, but if I had, I would do without and be on this diet.
