BTD Forums  /  Eat Right 4 Your Type  /  Is it safe to ingest pearl powder?

It works wonders for skin lightening and getting rid of brown spots, freckles, etc.

I've read in many places that real pearl powder is beneficial to drink. Chinese women have done it for centuries. It detoxifies the body, etc. But I cannot find if Dr. D says it's safe to ingest.

Does anyone have info about this?

Pearl Powder is normally used as a supplement rather than a food.  Supplements are not normally rated.

I do not recall Dr. D. saying anything negative or positive about pearl powder.

I've noticed it in a number of the Chinese supplements from the company I buy from and the results that are reported from centuries of use have made me curious also.

I don't see any reason to assume that it would be rated the same as oysters;  therefore I view it as neutral.

Pearls are mostly comprised of calcium carbonate.
