I now have both books in front of me. I have read "Er4Yt" and am starting to read "Live right 4 Your type". I am following ER4YT and wondering if I should proceed forward with reading the Live right book. It looks as though some of the information is more detailed and somethings have changed, as far as avoids, beneficial, etc....

Should I just give it a while on the ER4YT? Or keep on reading the "Live Right 4 your type" and follow the new criteria. Thanks!

read eat has all the basic stuff

find out your secretor status and read live right.....
finetune your guidelines according to your secretor status results

if later interested, you might read gtd and eventually settle for a swami...
that s the ultimate in personalized genetic nutrition

you can take the test and decide which diet system is best for you

keep reading and even comparing the two.. some things between the lines will educate you..and explain more of what DrD 's work was all about .. then in a year graduate to Geno type eating. but for now you have all you need to get e good grounding,

Good luck..

then later get the encyclopedia for specific issues.. or the newer books for specific issues like diabetes, cancer cardio and more.. ..

but take some time first with what you have.. 8)

Bobbier...I read Eat Right first and got the basics of this way of life.  And then, Live Right and waited and found out (three years from reading Eat Right) that I am a non-secretor thinking I was a secretor. (Denial, denial, denial  ;) 8))  I would keep reading the Live Right now that you have read Eat Right and find out your secretor status.  This is a very important factor with our blood and the foods we ingest as it changes a lot (if you are a nonnie) and helps you back on the road to recovery faster.  The Live Right is more detailed and if you have any questions just ask away on here.  Happy reading.

You can never read too much!  I have read ER4YT at least three times.  I then read LR4YT, Dr. D's books on Cardio, Menopause and Arthritis.  I finally just finished reading the GenoType book and got a SWAMI.  I am now reading that.

I think you will find a lot of overlap, but each book adds new information and gives you a better understanding of why the diet works and how to make appropriate food choices.

I would definitely send away for the secretor test.  Turns out I am a non-secretor, which changed a lot for me and helped motivate me even more to be compliant.

Best of luck in your journey to health and wellness!

I will go ahead and read the live right 4 your type book then. I also have the Genotype book as well but I think I will wait on that one. I will take it one step at a time and continue to be excited at what I am learning. This is so much fun.

I'd say keep reading the books but get your swami. No point in eating foods that you shouldn't. Only your swami will tell you...

Having followed the diet plan in Eat Right and those given in Live Right,
I can say that for me the refinements in Live Right were very important.

Following Live Right instead of Eat Right greatly improved my overall health.

I loved the first reading of Live Right, i have never read Eat Right, but then went on to read Genotype Diet & SWAMI Xpress... If I was doing it again, I would suggest SWAMI Xpress as soon as you can do it - there is a fair bit of info to collate to complete it, then read the books for more engaging stories and information to soak up.

I'd stll be drinking beer and thinking it was ok if I didn't move on to LR. Haven't  read beyond LR though. So, I'm looking forward to learning more.
