My parents have always emphasized the importance of eating healthy foods and I've grown up eating healthy but I had never heard of the BTD. I work for a lady that does the BTD and bought me the book but I didn't think I would do it because I thought my healthy eating was enough.
I had been having stomach pains (I have a sensitive stomach) and sleep problems a lot and I noticed after I ate jalepenos and lamb (type A avoid foods) one weekend, that I felt really sick. I'm a type A and out of curiosity I read through part of the ER4YBT book to see what foods were avoid.
When I saw that foods that bothered me like tomatoes, wheat and white flour, potatoes and red meats were avoid I decided to try the BTD for 2-4 wks... I haven't had any stomach pains since and my sleeping's been getting better. Even though my family thinks I'm slightly crazy, I decided I'd keep doing the BTD :)

If you start eating right for your own body while you're young, you will most likely avoid most diseases that your body might be susceptible to!  :-)

Hey Arataii...welcome to the forum and this way of life.  Yeah...a lot of us get that where our families think we are crazy.  I'd rather be crazy and healthy than the way I was nine years ago.  Great to hear that you are not having anymore stomach pains and that you are sleeping better.  Keep it up...there are sooooo many benefits to this way of eating.  And keep us posted.

Debra :)

I hear you about getting more sick while eating "healthy" foods...  I had a bit more than just the foods working against me, but they definitely weren't helping me...  This diet will help the body heal and be much stronger to fight future illness, etc...

Welcome Arataii!
My sons and some friends thought I was crazy, too. So what. You know whats good.
You are young and will be so thankful for following this diet as you age. After trying the BTD diet for 9 months my normal cholesterol and triglycerides plummeted. That was only changing butter for ghee, reducing sugar intake and switching to NAP's supplements. You will learn so much on this journey...enjoy and good health to you!

Welcome to the forum.

I wish I had this protocol when I was your age.  What an advantage you have to start your healing so young.  Look forward to hearing about your results.

I share DF's sentiments.  The first thing I thought was how lucky of you to have discovered this at such a young age before much damage has been done.

Count your blessings; many of us envy your early discovery.  It's not by chance you decided to give the book a look over.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!

Yes please let us know how you feel on the plan after a while.  I love to hear how others do on it!  You are young and at an advantage!  that is very exciting! ;D

Welcome aboard!!  You won't regret making the change to this way of living.  Don't worry about your folks - hopefully after seeing how well you get on, they might just get curious enough to ask questions or better yet give it a whirl.

I can't wait to hear how you get on - do keep us posted.

All the best

Your parents should be proud of you for taking control of your health.  Most parents of teenagers worry about all the junk food their children are consuming.

My son is 26 but was 16 when I started on this healthy journey.
