BTD Forums  /  Nonnie Clubhouse  /  A caffeine headache again from lack of blk tea

So I got over the coffee headache.. then started to drink reg tea and thought nothing of it.. then 3 days ago I bought rosehip tea (no caffeine) and drank it for the last 24 hours or so and had 2 headaches since.. I just realized why..

SO for me its the caffeine addiction part that bothers me.. not so much the acid part.. at least that is what I am thinking??

OR?? is the lack of acid giving me a headache.. its so difficult to always be aware what the darned I drink or eat.. its on issue all by it self.. no better than a wheat issue..

giving up choc will be the same and if I forget 2 days in a row ..the headaches are back.. and my stomach rumbles????? what to do.. ?

I am goin to eat a steak..

try some yerba matte and see if the head ache goes away. there is 100mg of caffene in a cup of yerba matte, more than black tea but less [a little] than coffee.

........... the issue I think is the acid.. I am convincing myself.. because its easier to know when I eat drink acid foods  then when I ingest on innocent drink only to get smacked the next day with a tension creeping up the back of my neck on the right side ..over the top until the eyebrows..

I never really thought about being as vigilant to DRINKING as I might have to be.. if its the acid.. or the caffeine.. I need to get it figured out.. asking someone who understands Chinese pathways.. there has to be something to the position and the specific reaction..

by the way the tea and the steak and roaste parslet helped me to sleep on hour later..

I recommend eliminating the caffeine gradually.  Drink caffeinated green tea for awhile.

I drink lots of yerba mate and green tea.I never eliminated the caffeine from the coffee I used to drink; I just found healthier sources of it.

the headache is definately from the caffeine withdrawal....3 days and you'll be over it! (but oh, those 3 days! ;))
Or.....as has been said: drink yerba mate with green tea....should solve the problem. YM has a slightly different type of caffeine they call "matteine"... for what its worth. The stuff doesn't keep me up at night or anything!

Goldie,
Why are you trying to go completely caffeine-free?  Green Tea, White Tea and Mate have so many fantastic health benefits.

I am not .. I don't even care.. but I accidentally or by design just skipped reg balk tea for over 24 hours.. wanted to drink more red tea for its vita .. and that is why I got the headache..

I also don't care about the choc when it has caffeine, or the ice cream with coffee..

I DO CARE WHEN I FORGOT THAT I went off long enough something to get headaches..

as in - I gave up many foods but never thought I would have to be focused on SKIPPINMG a certain .. and then get the headache..

AND IAM just supposing that it could be the acid as well as the caffeine.. I will test it the next time and just eat a steak.. to see if it will go away.. worked last night 3 am..  :-/

I get a headache and feel really tired when I stop drinking tea (green or black). I only drink one cup of tea in the morning, but it still gives me the headache when I give it up. I sometimes give up tea for about 5-10 days just to get rid of all the caffeine in my body. I think it is important not to drink tea every day (at least it is for me).

I think that is the issue.. here.. I have to remember when I drank this or that in ALL the stuff I take in.. if it has any caffeine in it .. it counts for 2 days in a row and then I have the coffee headache effect to deal with.. making the choice between- having to suffer through it .. or ingest more of the same.. THAT is the issue.. my body kicking me for the lack of VIGILANCE!!! ha-ha-ha ..  :D :D :D

I drank coffee for 25 years and gave it up completely cold turkey, don't see the point in taking slowly it just hurts for longer lol

I never drank tea in my life until a week ago when I just tried green tea the smell made be feel sick - I really like the green stuff it weird huh. Maybe it was the milk in the tea before

Warning though on the supplements I started yesterday my stomach is going nuts either that or it the prune juice, maybe both, but certainly there is a clear out going on
