My A Nonnie child is always sick.  Since October he has been sick about 9-10 times.  It seems that about every 2 weeks he is getting something... a cold, cold turns to sinus infection, fever, sore throat, headache, 5th disease, RSV w/croup, etc.
I am trying to keep him away from avoids and he is very good about it away from home, much better than you would expect from an 8 year old boy!

Any suggestions?  We started the er4yt in December.  I feel much better for sure!

Might want to try this and good handwashing goes a long way for keeping bugs away.

Hi Shanamom !
If cow milk is still in his diet I fear in my experience this is the culprit, I was also celiac gluten intolerant and had my tonsils removed six yars old to attend school really! I had help in sinusitis and ears problems with BTD supplements as echinacea and collinsonia, stoneroot. Vit C supplement is always useful. Ear nose throat are a real mess with recurrent infections and antibiotics, may be also probiotics are needed. For the children diseases as rubella, 5 disease, scarlet fever I believe it is not so bad for children to have them, if they have not prior diseases and I prefer to have had them to vaccines, that my MD father did not endorse. I had only law prescribed vaccine and not all of them ! If the boy is nonnie have you LR4YT ? Wheat, common bread and noodles are bad for nonnies !
Hope it helps Maria Giovanna

the birth date may have something to do with it.. November babies are prone to 'colds'.. and this year many people have been ill for weeks on end...

do a Geno test if possible.. he may need to go a step beyong BTD..   good luck

Why are November babies prone to colds? My birthday is November 6th and when I was a child I got sore throats every month and colds every three months. As I got older, I would get sick with a flu three times/ year until I started the BTD. Now I rarely get a cold or flu.

adapt the guidelines and protocols stated in the allergies book to build up his immune system and gut flora.

Ditto on all counts except my b-day is the 5th. ;)  Oh, also, I got strep once or twice a year, not the flu.

Have you considered starting him on the Polyflora Type A probiotics?  You can learn more about them here.  http://www.4yourtype.com/probiotic.asp

I had sore throats 9 months out of the year as a child due to sleeping with my mouth open.   Eating the wrong types of dairy made my body overproduce mucous.  Also, sleeping on an old mattress/pillows/etc.

9 month and Valentines day... YOU got it.. fun.. ha-ha ..IN Europe e did not have Valentines day but we had a masquerade party before lent.. might be the same effect .....  :) November babies are indeed prone to 3 month cycling of nose and throat issues.. I had my tonsils removed after getting the measles in the midst of summer at age 9 I was just sick of being sick so I ask that they be taken out.. at that time the best decision I ever made.. (age not withstanding)   later the only thing that saved my sanity was Contacts.. the wonder drug for us all.. IN FACT I AM a believer in doing dehydration as soon as we feel a cold coming on .. then at least we don't get the drip down the back and then the bronchitis..  ... by the way the item that triggers my every 3-4 month nose issue is on allergy to OAK activity.. (nearly died after I had my oak floors refinished.. )  :D

Have you tried taking him to a chiropractor? Being "out of whack" reduces the body's natural immunity, and a chiropractic adjustment can boost the immunity (back to where it should be in the first place.)

He may need supplemental vitamin C or other vitamins.

Also, find out what it is that he's not following 100% at school or out with friends. Some avoids are OK if you just minimize them, while others are really toxic even in trace amounts.

Whenever your child is home, where you have influence on eating, feel him as large amount as possible of Beneficials. Consider measuring for the GTD;  Its' a lot more individualized!

Sloshing and gargling with warm salt water morning and night help to clear out the bugs before they can set in.  Especially upon first coming home, it's helpful.

Decongesting is important..  Decongesting prevents dripping down the back.. and in my experience its justa seasonal thing that can set in for the long haul.. Vit C maybe but I think even a change in climate might help every so often even if ony for a day .. and keep him away from those that have a cold..what does he get for what sails him>?  .... but am I right mom never answered here?? ??)

Genotype diet, can't be done in a child. They need to be fully grown to measure properly. The blood type diet is a great system for choosing foods.

I know that massage that you can do yourself might help, just his feet legs chest etc.. Might be good to get the lymph to move through his body. I know it helped when my kids where little and sick. I would massage their heads and neck and although I am an A mother with and A child she never had an ear infection as a young child ( she is now 20)

Kids get sick, they pick up stuff. This too will pass. Having some strategies to cut down on the length of illness might be good. Like the proberry.

Do you let him rest when he is sick?  Some parents still run the kids all over regardless, so they never seem to recover.

My pastor told me his 2 year old was up all night coughing, then I saw this kid at church. Why would you do that? Bring this kid out rather then let him rest? I have nut written all over my face, so I can't say a word.

Thank you all for the input.  I will be trying to make sure that he is getting more beneficial foods.  We have been doing lots of probiotics and homemade yogurts.  I haven't purchased the Proflora for A's but will look into that.  I have just tried to get one from the health food store that is very high quality.  We have cut out avoid dairy items completely.  The one hard thing is avoiding corn and potato when he goes to other homes (these are very common in Gluten Free foods).

He is a boy that gets lots of exercise and I am not one to push my kids when they are sick.  He has always been much more prone to sickness than his younger brother (who I am assuming is secretor).

Thank you again everyone for your input.

Buy some good quality vitamin A. Follow the diet and stop the wafer vitamin for a bit and see how it goes.

I can tell you that a few of my friends have been to Dr. D and once he declares them healthy,  he tells them to follow the diet and maybe take a probiotic but they don't need much more.

Every time I've followed Dr. D's suggestions for something specific, I've always been glad I did.

:)Wow   you did a lot of typing work.. my experience I would call NAP and get blood type specific items .. then the body does not first have to fight the avoids.. and go directly to food or nutrient neutrals..

and this year in addition to all other stuff I would say about it.. this year more people taking the vaccines SEEEM to be sick for much longer than other years.. so maybe he will just need to heal..

again I would ask about the birthday of your child.. October November Babies and adults have a inborn THROAT weakness..  also possibly his laundry might have a substance in the soap that he reacts to??? just asking.. just conjecturing..

I save hundreds by not buying sups from health food sales people. (I am weak)  calling NAP is much safer..

and I would possibly consider healing during the FULL year.. so he is stronger by next fall.

and FOOD is the best medicine..

I really didn't do much work on the typing, I copied from a site that sells that supplement.  His birthday is in February, so I'm not sure how that plays in.  I will be sure to consider the type specific supplements.  He has not had any vaccinations in several years.  Hopefully we can get his body strong so that going into next year's cold season he doesn't get beat up!

Thanks for all of the input.

One thing that seems to work for me is to drip some hydrogen peroxide in one ear and allow it to bubble for about 10 minutes, roll over and do the other ear when I start to get a sore throat or stuffy nose.  I also rinse/gargle with hydrogen peroxide, (may cut in half with water), just after the ear dose.  The ear dose feels funny, but always seems to work for us...

I am nearly a blind follower of BTD/Geno because I find it works for me .. I also have spent endless money on all sort of other stuff .. and in the end what works is BTD and I trust NAP's products because of it.

now that its summer you might try some detox as well and see if you can get the child to shed some stuff from earlier times when you suppressed 'the coming out ' of stuff his body would have let go in the olden days but we keep under 'wraps' with meds just to get through the day..

again ask NAP or better yet buy the Encyclopedia from Nap it might serve you for years.. even though it might need updates with all the Geno stuff ..

I also would look at his food intake, some things just harm our body's in the smallest way.. ( I once tested the idea that Peanuts are bad for O ???? as I never heard that before.. -well I ate the peanuts and 3 weeks I got the 'predicted' urine infection.. It confirmed DR D like no other info I ever needed to trust) maybe change of soap stuff, as it might be on irritant instead of helpful.. (shampoo is the best thing to clean shower walls - I wonder what it does to our body??????.. )

There is a soap link you might look at - I use it but will not vouch for it--.. yet at least read what they say about washing your hands correctly.. the soap will make do it correctly.. I buy 12 at a time..
the way TV portrays washing your hands for flue prevention is ALL wrong..

http://clenzology.com/

The summer is good for green juices (drink your veggies and eat your fruit is the golden rule.. you get a lot of good stuff into juice.. sneak some good stuff by mixing it with other food..  use veg juice as 'gravy' stock  .. soup and whatever.. it's more potent than veg. alone .. get natural health inside ..

Epson salt foot / whole baths are another way to detox..    and I also bought a air Ionizer by Living air.. mine was 500.- 600 I bought 3 one for a friend one for my nephew with pets and my self.. I would not like living without it ever again.. have it on the lowest setting .. what I like is the easy maintenance.. just about non.. and the QUALITY.. CHEAPER MODELS MAY NEED CLEANING ALL THE TIME- THESE DO NOT..

SORRY TO GIVE YOU SO MUCH TO DIGEST.. BUT COPY AND PRINT TND THINK OF ONE ITEM AT A TIME FOR THE SUMMER AND THEN ITS NOT SO OVER THE TOP. :o.   GOOD LUCK..
