Yup.. I have been back and forth throughout the past while... I read a little. Research a little. Apply a little. and repeat. Transitioning  100% has been hard this time round... Pregnancy cravings have me all across the market place!

However, I do want to testify that I always feel better eating the Type A Diet. I haven't graduated to the genotype yet.... I just ordered the secreter test... but just starting with the Type A protocol always brings me back to feeling good.

So.. this is my proclamation... yet again.. that' I'm back in the Type A saddle... Wish me Luck!

Thank you Thank you... Sadly, I do know what to do and I've been fighting it.... seriously.. toddler tantrums... I'm scouring my books now and looking forward to the benefit of making healthy decisions for me.

I just ordered the secretor test...hoping it arrives this week. I've read and reread the baby book... I just need to follow it! hehe....

I feel the need to be accountable to someone, someplace... so I'll just respond in my own thread and if people dig it... they can talk back to me.

I am 35 weeks pregnant so any kind of aggressive exercise is out anyway... (not to mention I'm lazy!) .... but I feel like I should be doing SOMETHING.... walking is ok.. is there anything anyone recommends?

As for a trip to the grocery store to pick up favorable produce... it may have to wait a day. we are projected to have bad weather... ice on the roads just isn't safe. So alas, i'll make due one more day...

Thanks for letting me vent my randomness at 3am... My growing little boy won't let me sleep.

Hi there... Glad you feel this is a place you can be yourself...

Walking is terrific exercise for when you are pregnant - helps with labour... Hope you find somewhere safe & not icy to do that....

Today has been a great day food wise. No activity but just eating *right* is a good start. This also means my toddler ate right too... I'm interested to see if there are any chances in her behavior....

Just wanted to report that I have saddled up and things are going much smoother than anticipated. I have to do a glucose test tomorrow (Apparently I'm not doing well with my glucose levels so they want to double check (again) along with my hemoglobin levels) So there will be a small break in a winning streak. And not even a good one! YUCK! those drinks are funky!

I have been loving the process of lurking and posting! There are so many great questions I wouldn't think to ask!

Anyway, here's to a lifestyle that gives me the best possible life! Cheers!

Wahoo... I slept last night!

This is a huge victory as i've been having trouble sleeping with this pregnancy for a couple of weeks. The next perk is that not only did I sleep but I woke up feeling good! yay!

I have get to go do the blood test as not sleeping is not helpful for getting up early to test. i plan to go tomorrow or Monday.

If anyone can be encouraged by my subtle report... please be... Sleep is so important and getting it... just by changing your diet.... totally makes the effort and saying "no" to the unhealthies worth it!

Truly! It's like I had a turn around day and just FEEL Better. The best news is in researching a few commercial grocery products (unsweetened refrigerated almond milk, yogurt, etc) I found a different grocery store chain (Kroger) carried a few more items them my normal stop... I was super surprised to see the selection they had... where i can shop for me (and not go broke) as well as for my husband who still likes his chips, canned veggie soup and and the like.

This is a lifestyle change that I want for my daughter and I (she loves soy and almond milk and doesn't even flinch when it comes to eating/gnawing on celery or carrots, peanut butter or almond butter Ezekiel toast) and if our new little is A blood type... all the more reason (and ease) to raise the little in eating properly too! (Is it sad that I want the new little to be A blood type so we can all eat the same foods together during the day? Husband is an O)

Another note: i was surprised at the variety of products that are on the market now that were not available 10ish years ago - even 5 when I was the last bit serious. I'm don't see myself being able to live 100% ER4YT just because I'm not a great - make-it-at-home girl... but with the availability of simple staples ... there is no excuse on eating 100% most days. AND with y'alls support... I may surprise myself...

PS I haven't tried the Spelt Bread recipe but I'm excited to try it and see if I can make it.

Not at all...  It doesn't hurt to want life to be easier for yourself.  Just don't be visibly disappointed if it isn't...

It is OK to eat very simple foods...  It doesn't take a lot of "making" to chop some vegetables, wash some fruit, and spread some peanut butter (on a compliant shingle)... ;D  Steaming vegetable and fish is really easy as well - I put a bed of vegetables in the steamer and a fish fillet on top of that, with a bit of spicing over everything and let it steam until done.

Walking worked wonders for me while I was pregnant (especially labor). Also those "cat" stretches where you get on the floor on all fours and arch your back....

Just out of curiosity, how did everyone figure out their infants/toddlers
blood type? Was it with the standard test from NAP? Nobody can seem to tell
me my 2 year old's type and we even had his cord blood saved. Wouldn't you think
they would know? I would like him to be an "A" also so the whole family is in the
same boat. It does make things easier when you know how to help. If your baby was
an "O" you would have to read about another plan. It's not bad to wish for that.

We found our toddler's blood test when they did the preliminary blood test the first day she was alive. Your pediatrician should have it on record, if not you can ask for it or simply order the blood typing kit (we did this for DH as he hates going to the doctor).

We'll I have been lurking more than posting but have been learning so much. I will be out of pocket for a while with a new little but want to thank y'all again for your wisdom and practical advice. I am looking forward to a quick recovery!

I left and came back. I was here in 1998...left..came back in 2004...left again...and came back in 2007.
Why?  Because I was too lazy to follow the diet strictly and I'm a all or nothing perfectionist, who used to get a LOT of migraines. I realized after keeping a health journal and trying everything from Atkins to Weight Watchers that, I felt the best and lost weight following almost exactly the A diet.  :o   I was also too lazy to read up on the science behind it.  Now I'm a certified fellow.  It's a Taurus thing. (laziness) :B   Also, Dr. D mentioned that one can be 70% compliant and it would still be excellent.. (duh)  I thought all or nothing...

I'm just not sure how much online time I will have. I have the secreter test to send in the mail today. My pantry has approved snacks and food items for when i get back from the hospital. My fridge has a shelf of approved food items (DH is an O so he has his stuff NOT on my shelf). I am in the process of making a list of approved and my favorite fruit and veggies for who ever goes grocery shopping for me while I'm in recovery at home and trying to balance out being a mom of two (I do have a great support network who are willing to help me with the small things until I get back on my feet & am willing to take the new little out).

My father and my in-laws will be here to help me the first week with cooking... so I need to direct them in what I want to eat. (MIL is southern and everything has bacon grease, served with a starch (pasta or potato) and is served with an ounce of guilt - "we should really be eating healthier!") I have even typed out a couple recipes/menu items (baked chicken, cheesy spinach, what I like in my salad) so that they don't have to ask what I can/will eat. The propane tank is full to grill veggies and protein.

I am getting extremely excited and can't wait for the new adventures ahead.
