Coconut oil is used in treatments against Candida, but it is an Avoid for O secretors and Neutral for O non-secretors, my questions:
1 .- how can it be possible, if a non-secretor is more delicate?.
2 .- I am O non secretor, could it be safe to me to take coconut oil in a daily basis?

Thank you very much

One thing you may want to consider is no O's get coconut oil as anything less than a black dot, GTD.

There are other ways to treat candida.

so you are following the O non secretor diet?

then also follow the yeast fungus protocol according to your type, not according to the one size fit all advises on the net

I understand you point Lola,

The following is a brief summary of the sequence of events:

1.- I had my recurrent knee problem, I discovered ER4YT in Internet, I made some questions and began the diet, with no much information. My knee improved, thanks.

2.- Then I was able to find a local bookstore willing to find me the Eat Right 4 Your Type book, where the standard O diet is recommended,

3.- Before I know about Candida I purchased a complete set of Polyflora, Deflect, PolyVite, Phytocal for O and 2 Joint packages, the O, Arthritis, and Aging books, and Saliva Test.
These things took time, I did the test and discovered my non secretor status. I also discovered I have Candida. So I followed your recommendations and then

4.- I did a new purchase of 2 and 3 sets of The Immune and Fungus protocols from Dr. D'Adamo plus the Live Right 4 Your Type book and another set of Polyflora, Deflect, PolyVite, Phytocal, they are on their way.

But meanwhile I had to do something about the Candida so

5.- In the ER4YT Book, Spanish edition, the information about candida for O is about one paragraph in page 344 and there are no further guidelines. Please let me know If I am missing something.

As far as I researched in Internet almost all references forbid taken carbohydrates and sugars for Candida, so from the O non-secretor diet, that I am strictly following, I took it out all carbohydrates and sugars including millet, fruits and nuts. You can not imagine how tough is this. Please let me know if this is wrong from the BTD perspective.

5.1 And I purchased in a local store Pau D'Arc, Oregano essential Oil and Grapefruit Seed Extract, these last 2 recommended somewhere in the BTD forums. I am also taking the BTD products of my first purchase: Polyflora, Deflect, PolyVite, Phytocal

5.2 At the same time with the little energy I  have I try daily to cope with a little of my delayed work and also I try to exercise at least 20 minutes and then go into the sauna for 2 rounds of 15 minutes at 81 Celsius degrees to sweat enough to combat the Candida die-off, because in Spain I do not sweat at all. Many symptoms appear that I do not bother to post in the forum, because I suspect they are created by candida toxins, so I simple wait, hoping to be alive for next day.

6.- Lola, to give you an idea I spent in Dr. D'Adamo products about 800 US Dollars, that represents about the  year earnings of a person that has the minimum wage where I usually live. Be sure that I am very interested in doing The Immune and Fungus protocols from Dr. D'Adamo as soon as I get the products, but I am not in the USA. So for this reason, meanwhile the second purchase of products arrives, I use other available alternatives, but the coconut oil is thinking when I return to South America, as a nutrition and extra support to Dr. D'Adamo protocols, since coconut it is abundant there.

7.- So going back to my above questions, will somebody, that has the answers to those 2 questions, would be so kind to share them please?, I will state them in a bit different way:

8.- I am on the BTD not the GTD and from this link:
Coconut oil is an Avoid for O secretors and Neutral for O non-secretors, my questions:
8.1 What is the technical explanation for this, if a non-secretor is more delicate?.
8.2 I am O non secretor, could it be safe to take Virgin Coconut oil from the BTD perspective?

Thanks and Regards

if I d find a great virgin source of the oil, like you have, I d go ahead and try it out.....if you must

here s what Dr D mentioned about CO being a toxin for explorers
Quoted Text
Why isn't coconut oil an Explorer Superfood?
Dr. D
I don't like the effects of one of the main constituents (lauric acid) on the cytochrome CYP4A subfamily (CYP4A11) when used by GT4; in particular liver peroxisomal oxidation, which is about the last thing GT4 needs in this world.

Dr. Enig is a fine lipid chemist, but has a tendency to think coconut oil is just wonderful in everyone.
In English:

Some people don't do as well as others running a soap through their bile ducts.

in my explorer swami, it s a black dot......and I repeat,
if I were to have that quality CO available to me, and had a bout of candida, and were in a deserted island with no NAP sups available to me....
I d try it out as well. :)

I just want to acknowledge your sincere efforts.  You are obviously trying very hard to balance your health and you are dealing with several health targets.

I can't tell you what you should do about the coconut oil, but for myself, I focus on beneficials and super-beneficials.  And this is especially true when dealing with an immediate health issue.  As a neutral for an O non-secretor, I would not consider it to be a strong health promoter.

Here is the Anti Fungus protocol for type O's and non-secretors from this website:

   1. Caprylic acid, 350 mg: 1-2 capsules, twice daily away from food
   2. Clove fruit (Eugenia sp), 50 mg: 1 capsule, daily
   3. Standardized Chinese Garlic Extract (Allium sativum), 400 mg: 1 capsule, twice daily
   4. Stinging Nettle root (Urtica dioica), “UDA Plus”: 1-2 capsules, twice daily
   5. Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus), “Fucus Plus”: 1 capsule with meals, 2-3X daily
   6. Polyflora O (ABO Specific Probiotic): 2 capsule daily
   7. Intrinsa: 2 capsule twice daily

   1. Zinc, 15 mg: daily

   1. Larch arabinogalactan (Larix officinalis) “ARA6”: 1 tbsp, twice daily in juice or water

   1. Vitamin A 10,000 IU: 1 capsule, daily

Hello and thanks for your patience Lola.

1.- Thanks for the technical data. So in summary Coconut Oil can affect the liver in GT4.

1.1 I see also that I need to move to the GTD and discover what genotype is my body. I will do it as soon as I have resources available.

2.- Victoria, thank you for remind me the value of beneficial food, as per Dr. D'Adamo in ER4YT book:
Quoted Text
"HIGHLY BENEFICIAL is a food that acts like a MEDICINE".

2.1 I will focus on those foods when going to the grocery while I have the candida.

2.2 As I have planned I will immediately do the protocols when I get them.

My questions were satisfactorily answered :)

Best regards

According to typebase coconut oil is an avoid for everyone BUT O-nonnies, but only a neutral for them.  Is it likely that it makes a great topical treatment for yeast infections (like athletes' foot, jock-itch, vaginal itch, etc...) but that taking it internally isn't such a great idea?  It really makes a nice skin cream.

Just thinking out loud. It is very high in saturated fat, which could cause cholesterol issues. Maybe O nonnies are the least likely group to suffer with this problem. As a neutral I would have thought it to be perfectly safe for them in BTD. Looks like it is a different GTD story. Always felt like a giant 'Bounty' when I used it as a moisturiser  :D.

It is a diamond for my genotype, so I have been eating 1 tsp daily for the past year.  But I have to say that my cholesterol balance has slightly tilted in a bad direction.  I'm going to avoid eating it at this time.

But it makes a great skin oil!   ;)

Quoted from Victoria

   1. Caprylic acid, 350 mg: 1-2 capsules, twice daily away from food

Caprylic acid is the main part of coconut oil that helps fight candida. It is only found in coconut oil and in mothers' breast milk. Take it instead.

Biotin is also very powerful, almost too powerful. If you take 10mg of it in a day and your system is weak it will knock you out and candida will not be completely gone.

All of the anti-candida things are very good but you need to bring your intestines under control and improve their health.

1. Make sure all bad oils, all gluten, and especially anything from the cane sugar plant are gone from diet. Also as low on dairy as possible would be best I would think. Anything that is a reactant you could come back to later that supposedly should work for you.

2. Lower inflammation. Fish is good, cayenne, and if flaxseed meal is on your list it works wonders for me.

3. Make large use of Ghee and carob powder if it is good for you. They seem to heal intestines.

4. Mobility is good, Pineapple is advisable.

Why intestines?

If your intestines are out of order your entire system will be weak and unable to fend of candida. Even when you kill it by digesting something it can come back so long as your system is taxed. It would appear from all the BTD/GTD work and recent studies popping up that intestines are the pinnacle spot of health.

You can starve it out like others suggest online but...

Eating only vegetables, meat, and fruit will starve it out. However it may leave you in a state that is unstable so the reintroduction of carbohydrates may arise candida once again in your system. However since you are a non-secreter Type O it might work out fine. However the need for some complex carbohydrates I find is important for muscle build and to allow you to relax (literally) instead of always being hyper.
