BTD Forums  /  The GenoType Diet  /  Are your genes Dominant or Recessive?

Was surfing the net and stumbled on this page

It's a quiz on different genetic traits and whether you are dominant or recessive for that trait.  As we know from Dr D secretor status is also a dominant or recessive trait, nonnie is recessive, secretor is dominant.  Also that blood type O is a recessive trait.

Wondering if there are any patterns between the traits in the quiz and blood types / secretor types.  Probably Dr D has already researched this though.  Like how PROP tasting is build into the different Genotypes.

Myself, I'm not sure about the earlobes, they don't hang down.  They are attached I think cos they haven't fallen off yet!?  Think I'm mainly dominant but don't know my taster or secretor status at this stage.

DH interlocked his fingers with the left hand first, said that's a habit from his golf swing!  :)

How did you score on the quiz?  No best answers or competition mind!

Can't roll tongue, so that's recessive
Ear isn't attached so that's dominant
My left thumb went over right thumb, and that's dominant
No dimples, recessive
xx, female
little finger doesn't bend towards others, recessive
do not have double jointed thumb, recessive
no freckles, recessive
not a taster, recessive
sodium benzoate?  Don't know how to answer that one
No widow's peak, recessive

I am mostly recessive.

LOL!  This reminds me of something my oldest brother used to say.  When we were teenagers we got along splendidly and he always gave me pertinent bits of advice.  One was:  "Never dive into the shallow end of the gene pool."

tongue = d
ear = d
interlock fingers = d
sex = XX
bent little finger = r
double jointed thumb = r
freckles = r
ptc taste = ??
sodium benzoate = ??
widow's peak = r

Well, now, ain't that just like a balanced Teacher, to be equal parts of both? ;-)

My sister would be more recessive -- she can't roll her tongue, and her earlobes are attached. She also has a split uvula (the little thingy that hangs down in the back of your throat). Yeah, she's weird. ;-)

Tongue Rolling: Dominant
Ear lobes: Recessive
Interlocking Fingers: Dominant
Dimples: Recessive
Sex: XX
Bent Little Fingers: Recessive
Double Jointed Thumbs: Dominant
Freckles: Recessive
PTC: Dominant
Sodium Benzoate: No Idea
Widow's Peak: Recessive

I am slightly more recessive then dominant.

I thought I had the recessive double jointed thumbs but after seeing my kids' thumbs I guess mine are double jointed after all. Just not quite as extreme as the photos I found.
