BTD Forums  /  SWAMI Xpress  /  Confused gatherer

I am on the BTD for the last 7 months and doing great. I already lost 35 lb on the BTD. I read the Geno Type Diet book more than once and was confused a little. Then I decided to go straight to the swami. I am happy with my food selections, although I am a bit confused. For the last several months, I came to the board for my questions and always found a good answer.

The issue of supplement was raised more than once, but I am still confused. I did not switch to the swami diet yet. I am taking Polyvite O,  Phytocal O, Deflect O and Fucus Plus (one a day). In my swami report I have bladder wrack as an AVOID at the same time It was suggested as a supplement with 4 stars. The same thing with Deflect O. I feel good taking both of them.

I am confused, should I continue to take O supplements or switch to the Gatherer supplements. Should I stop taking Fucus Plus, which main ingredient is Bladder wrack? “This is the type of seaweed used to enhance the metabolism in type O, and modulate the immune system in types O and B.”

I have more questions, but let’s start with this one.
Thanks :)

Thanks Lola, Deflect O came with 6 stars. It came with 4 stars with my swami. Deflect O contains Bladderwrack 200mg. Does this mean I can take it even though Bladderwrack is on my avoid list? It is really confusing.

My SWAMI cuts out bladderwrack also. I have stopped using the Fucus Plus and reserve Deflect for occasional use.

If you need the Deflect for joint issues (or other) then you might consider getting the N-A-G, larch and N-A-C seperately.

You might also consider switching to GT supps after using up your O supply.

I do not consider the bladderwrack in your list to be
the fucus vesiculosis in deflect or fucus from NAP.
Quoted Text
Many “kelp” and “bladder wrack” supplements are not Fucus vesiculosis, and are not as effective. Fucus blocks many lectins from attaching to type O cells. Our Fucus product is the highest quality, organic, freeze dried, and unlike the tinctures, high in fucose.

Bladder wrack is the common name for fucus vesiculosus. They are the same.
