Before I order the swami program I would like to know from anyone who is on the swami while they are going through perimenopause and menopause and if they ARE losing any weight while being on the swami. I have been on the GTD for 2 months and still have not lost any weight. I am afraid that the swami won't help me either since I am going through hormal changes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Youda1, welcome,

I am 58, started this very recently in a very unfit, overweight way.  I am menospause, but the lucky one that never had any symptoms.  In the past I think they have found my hormones were low, but I reacent test I did, hormonos do not make a mention, so I do not know what state they are in.  Maybe I should check it out.
Regarding the weight loss, yes I have lost some since I started (about 6 kg) but my body has been re-modelling itself, pushing fat out I assume since my clothes are fitting so well, lose and clothes packed away for being too small are now coming to the limelight.  I am an optimist though, I keep a positive outlook to the world and try no to dwell on what may hurt.  In your situation, if weigh is causing you concern and you are sure about being in the right GT and feeding the right information into SWAMI, let things roll by and come to you in due time.  Search for the positive, like someone else in some other thread wiselly advised, are your clothes fitting better?, is your skin changing, are you feeling otherwise better?  Are your body functions awakening or settling whichever may be appropriate?  Are you more alert, energetic?  

Of course, we are all unique and different and take things our own way and that is right too.  We have just to find how to make it work and the mental energy we put into it, has a bit to do too.  Keep on sharing your experiences and asking question.  I do that all the time, and feed on the experiences from others too.

there s a box for peri and menopause which you click on and the diet will be personalized to your needs.....can t get better than that and targeted to boot! :)

Do you have a history of premenstrual syndrome?
    * Are you in peri-menopause/ menopause?

I am peri menopausal and I am losing weight without exercising!  ;D Swami is very much worth it. How much more personalized can we get? Go for it....

Have you looked at the health series book on Menopause?
Might want to give that a go for a bit if you don't want to do a SWAMI.

I started menopause in 2007. I gained about 30 lbs as a result. Warriors are 2nd most easy to gain  next to Gatherers in mid life.. :(

I tried everything from Atkins to Weight Watchers..I tried BHRT and gained 10 lbs from it. I kept a journal ever since I started Menopause. I saw that I only lost when I followed a diet similar to the BTD so I decided to go see Dr. D as a patient. He Genotyped me and gave me the SWAMI.  I I've lost about 10 lbs so far and I was getting horrible hormonal headaches before I went to see Dr. D. Now on the Warrior diet, I don't have them anymore.  :)  and when I follow it compliantly, I lose steadily.  He is the BEST!

Thank you everyone for your input. I will start saving an hope to get the swami soon. I know that everyone goes through the transition differently but wanted to make sure that someone was having success while going through menopause. I have read the menopause but and cross referenced it with the GTD and it really has limited my food sources so I am hoping that the swami will open up new food areas for me instead of rice cakes and carrots. Thanks for the help1

I'm perimenopausal and have been on the GTD for about 7 months. I gained about 20 lbs. since the hot flashes started. I've lost 10 of those pounds since the GTD. The weight has been coming off very slowly, but I'm shrinking even as I speak even though the scale hasn't moved in two months. It's a very different way of losing weight. The body just keeps getting healthier and so the extra fat starts sheading. I still have the hot flashes, no change there, but I haven't got the swami yet. Soon I think...

Thanks Nowishow, I am now happy to know that maybe once my hot flashes start I could lose this weight. ha ha ha ha ha ha. My problem is my constant hunger at times and not being able to sleep at night. I have only had a few hot flashes but nothing constant yet. I have to say I am not so bloated since I have been on the GTD and I don't crave the sweet/salt combinations like I use to. So that is a good thing. I too hope to get the swami soon. Thanks for the posting.
