Did we ever find out if the bean portions were supposed to be the same as nuts and seeds?  I don't recall ever seeing the answer, so I don't know if I just missed it or it was never resolved.

On my SWAMU it says nuts and seeds 1/4 cup,  nut butters 1TBSP.  In the book it says nuts and seeds 1/2 cup, nut butters 2 TBSP.  It doesn't mention beans, and they are different from nuts and seeds.

At one point Dr. D said he'd look into it, but I haven't seen anything since then.

Sometimes it takes a little longer.  ;)

Not in such a hurry...just wasn't sure if I'd missed it or not.  In the ER4YT book, they are listed as a portion being 1Cup dry, which seems like it must be a mistake.  That's a lot of beans!  My hubby would be most unhappy if I followed that guideline  ;)

cooked is what you should take as your parameter! :)

the 1 cup dry is for those grains you can eat straight up, dry, like amaranth or oats or puffed whatever......puffed rice quinoa....

but those grains or legumes which quadruple once cooked, should be measured cooked.

That's what I thought, Lola.  It's actually in the Live Right book where the portion is listed as 1Cup, dry, under Beans and Legumes.  That may make sense for snap beans and some of the soy products, but not for the dried beans, peas and lentils.
