BTD Forums / Testimonials / Down 20 pounds in a year

On August 1, 2008 I weighed 140 lbs. On August 1, 2009 I weigh 120 lbs. I am 5’2” tall. (dance)
In March 2008 I twisted my knee bad. It swelled up from my ankle to my hip. I was not back to my full exercise routine until August and even then I had to watch out so I didn’t put too much pressure on my knee. Since my exercising routine was reduced and my sitting time increased, munching increased. I had gained 20 pounds. :-/
I decided to track my eating habits. I also looked up what was the ideal amount of calories to commune for a person of my age, weight frame and exercise level to maintain 120 lbs. What I discovered was that I had gotten sloppy with my portion sizes and serving amounts. So I vowed to only have 1 serving of any item at a sitting. I tracked everything I ate and the calories associated with it for 3 months. Then I felt confident that I could maintain that eating style without the bothersome tracking.
Of course, needless to say, sticking to my Swami diet helped.
