Does anyone have a problem with low blood pressure and fainting? If I get sick and not get enough sleep or exercise to much, I end up getting dizzy and faint.  Is there anything
I can take??

I used to have the same problem.  I know sage raises your blood pressure, even the smell of it.  You could try burning sage incense or having something sitting around releasing sage essential oil into the air, or try taking sage as a supplement.  I don't know how much is required.

I will tell you this though.  Since I've been on the GenoType Diet I haven't had a single episode of dropping blood pressure.  My BP is measurably higher-----that's not to say it will raise everybody's BP, but maybe it evens it out to where you're supposed to be.

May want to examine your diet instead of looking for a magic pill. I had the problem when I was on the Explorer diet (perhaps I followed the wrong genotype). I do not have the problem when I eat the A nonsecretor diet.

You need to restore the nautral biochemical balance of the body (until you do stand up slowly!!)

Fruits and meat, are supposed to be good for hypotension; so you may want to emphasize these in your diet.

Somethings that may help:
Keep blood sugar levels even by eating regularly (a number of small meals
Avoid things that are going to cause blood sugar to spike and then collapse
Drink enough fluid to keep hydrated (perhaps with sea salt or lemon)

If you tend to be anemic: Eat iron-rich foods, Vitamin B12 and plenty of vitamin C to aid absorption

Other ideas:

get some exercise
avoid alcohol

Some things taken to treat the conditon:

beetroot juice
nettles (stinging nettle tea)

blood building protocol

Mine has been very low for years.  Last time I was at my naturopath, I mentioned it and he took it...was surprised that I could function at all.  He had me up my salt intake and increase my PLAIN water intake.  He said 2 litres before 2 pm.  I am struggling with the plain water, I often have a tiny bit of juice or lemon or very weak green tea to get it down the hatch, and I rarely drink that much by early afternoon...but I am trying. My new friend salt is really helping though. ;D  I have seen a dramatic improvement.  It's still lower than the norm, but I don't feel nearly as dizzy and tippy.  8)

hey!!  My diet is at least 98%  superbeneficial,beneficial,and

Neutral frequent according to the AGING book by dr. D.

   The more salt that was mentioned, is that sea salt?

yes, sea salt, just a pinch in your drinking water, daily. :)

I normally have low blood pressure (runs in my mom's side of the family), and last year experienced feinting when vomiting (got the flu). I'm now taking some supps that Isa sent me (the packaging is in German, which I don't read) and fortunately haven't had the need to throw up so I don't know if they've helped or not.

I am using sea salt, and on food.  I was advised that if I don't like it on food, I can do 'salt shots', with a bit of salt in a shot glass of water.  So that the salt is going in seperately from the bulk of my fluids.  I am surprised at how quickly it helped me.  My bp was consistently below 80/60, and now it is often in the high 80s/low 90s over mid to high 60s, and it just keeps improving.  If I feel woozy, I drink plain water and/or eat something salty and I feel better almost instantly.  It is one of those things I have to be aware of to maintain and make sure I look after every day, at least for now.

You know, I can't believe it, but I'd forgotten about the sea salt.  I did that for a while too.  I think I had read that you were supposed to take 1/2 tsp. in warm water in the morning.  But I couldn't tell any difference with that amount, so I doubled it.  Yeah, that's a lot of salt.  But I sure felt good.  The first week I used 1 tsp. every morning and I felt so good I didn't even need any caffeine.  But like many good things, the initial affects wore off, my body got used to it, and it didn't do the same thing after a while.  I gradually weaned myself off and quit taking it, but my BP stayed up.  Of course, being on my current diet helped.

I regularly drink my water throughout the day with half a lime squeezed in and several healthy shakes of RealSalt. Salted, lemon/lime water tastes so wonderful to me. Even so, my bp is on the low side.

Well, mine is too, when you look at the charts, but at least I don't feel like I'm going to pass out all the time--I feel like it's normal now.  Still sluggish and tired some, but I can't blame that on my diet.  I blame it on lack of sleep and, dare I say it, maybe a little depression.  I do salt my food a good bit.

I d be wasted doing what you do on a daily basis taking care of three, well actually four! ;)

You may be suffering from salt defiencey.  You may also be hypoadrenic, or also know, as adreanal fatigue.  Try drinking a glass of water with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of sea salt, upon rising in the morning.  I know sounds gross, but you get used to it and it works.  Also, again around 2pm, when your adreanals are at their lowest function.  If you feel better, no more dizzyness, that you know you are on the right track.  After a trip to the ER & months of walking around on the verge of passing out, I was willing to try anything. And I never had the dizziness again, unless I forgot to drink the salt water.   And salt your food too!  Unless you have high blood pressure, salt is not dangerous.  Another misconception we've been fed about our health.  Salt is necessary for our bodilty functions!  

There are great websites, look for Dr. Lam, and some others.  Also, check out Adrenal Fatigue , the book, it's been a lifesaver for me.

Infusion of cinnamon may help low blood pressure...

and essence oil of rosemary (smell)... or mix with almond oil and use like a Body oil ...

I'm sure many of us know plain chocolate lowers the pressure.
There were a few times when I had chocolate in the morning & bent over at work to do something & got woozy. I knew what it was. So if those who have high BP can learn to eat chocolate without sugar, you got a good thing, BT & GT permitting.

My blood pressure can run low also. Right before I got sick it dropped to 96/'s been 90/60 many times. It was actually getting higher on the low carb diet I was on right before I started the GTD it was 120/80. The GTD is bringing it down again. I guess low is normal for me.

I think I'm going to start doing the salt water in the mornings again.

I had a fantastic nap this afternoon and have felt really good this evening.
