Hi everyone, I'm new here and not very informed. A friend at work let me borrow the Eat Right and Live Right books (I've since purchased my own). I love the whole concept and looking back on eating habits, I've had issues that fall right in line with my A blood type. I'm slowly making the transition to a more "A friendly" diet.

What prompted my interests in dieting? I read up on a work out routine used by the actors in the movie 300. I was doing great until I started focusing on protein intake. I went right for chicken and canned tuna fish (picky eater). I also had sirloin burgers. I've lost 12 pounds and I'm in good shape. Ironically the workout has gotten harder for me. My muscles just don't seem to have the push for the last couple of reps that they did when I started the routine.

Having read through the books briefly I've seen it stated that A blood types function with a more alkaline muscle tissue. Can anyone tell me what this means or how this is achieved? I've also read that the meats I was eating produced a more acidic environment.

Changes I've made so far:

Dairy is gone- I'm drinking soy milk love it! No more grilled cheese sandwiches though  :'(

Wheat bread is gone also. I was eating PB&J on wheat alot. Now I'm eating PB on rice cakes.

I'm trying to incorporate alot more fruit into my diet. Hopefully that will help. Thanks in advance for any advice you guys have.

you need to definitely look into yoga, meditation or alternate nostril breathing to compensate and balance your system after your strenuous exercise.

Sounds like you made some important changes.  In a few weeks, you should see lots of improvements.

Being an A myself I found myself restricting food/calories once I lost the weight through lifting and yoga etc. I was tired and lacking the drive at times to really give it in the gym and found finally that I wasnt eating enough. Listen to your body and for example if you wake up thinking steak, you're hungry.

I work out in the morning and always have protien beforehand and also directly after. I also take Vit C in the morning and my B vitamins.

One other thing, depending on your age, you may be simply working out too hard, or too often
