Hi,

I'd be interested to know exactly what nutrients are in the meats some of us eat. Methylcobalamin (B12) and, all the aminos and Iron are some examples. I'll be honest, although I have found this way of eating better than anything else I've tried I'd very much like to obtain the goodness from meat by buying supplements like,for example, in the form of B12 and therefore not needing to eat meat since although I like the taste of it, ethically I would prefer not to. Of course if there are way too many nutrients one would need to purchase to achieve this then it wouldn't be worth it. If you're an O and haven't yet tried the active form of B12 then give it a go in Dr.D's multivitamin - way better than the usual cobalamin prep.

Even beyond the nutrients alone there is something in red meat that is so natural for your blood type.  O evolved as a meat eater.  Reading the posts of O’s who were former vegetarians, their heath health improved once they started eating meat again.  Look for farms that allow their animals to graze naturally and live in humane conditions.  Inquire about the method of killing them to see if there is pain or trauma.  If there are not farms near you and you don’t have a natural grocery store or butcher, then you may have to search the internet and have the meat shipped to you.

Thanks for the replies. I don't doubt what you say though those nutrients offered in that link (thank you by the way) are provided a very high quality multi vit and mineral maybe with the exception of methylcobalamin which I've only seen in Dr.D's supplements. The 'something' that Redlilac mentions in red meat I would like to now what that is, does anyone know?

That's a substantial listing of macro and micro nutrients although still incomplete.

Also keep in mind that the balance of the nutrients can be important as well.  ;) Plus, beef is an incredibly dense source of protein. Check out the breakdown of amino acids.

My O mother was a manic-depressive and on Prozak.  She died before I became aware of the BTD.  We knew by observation what contributed to her mood swings (sugar) and what stabilized her (meat).

I do not know exactly what that “something” is, but look at all the foods that are beneficial, neutral or avoids.  It is more than just the nutrient value that determines their classification.  It has to do with what happens when they travel through our digestive system and what individual quirks our genes have in how we react to them.  This is just a simplified explanation.

I did excellently for about 8 years as a vegan. Interestingly, vegan eliminated the worst Type O culprit for me: dairy. I ate a huge variety of foods, followed Natural Hygiene and had probably 2/3rds of all my food raw.

Meat for O is "ideal" not absolute.

But the level of carbohydrates as a vegan required a huge trade-off: I had to work out very hard every single day or I would gain weight.

Pretty good, I think. I have had a few revelations of late that have cured my mystery heart palpitations. I haven't done my secretor status but I know that my beloved stevia was one of the worst culprits. So I suspect I am a non-secretor, among other reasons.

I haven't had to take a Tums in at least a couple months and I haven't gotten any esophageal spasms in that same amount of time. In fact, my whole larynx/swallowing area feels weirdly normal. I haven't been able to swallow water in many concurrent swallows for years. Now it's like a pipeline is open.

I made the connection between potatoes and my joint pain and plantar fasciaitis. So that's gone.

This may be that certain something. O's have higher IAP.
