:)This question is posed for all blood type A'a out there. Would it be okay to eat most Kashi products that have wheat listed as an ingredient, as I eat their cereal cause it is healthy and does not have those commercial chemicals like most commerciai cereals do. (YUCK! who wants those.)And I eat their cookies and bars as well. Better for you than junk food. Also, what about eating buckwheat type foods? What about wheat pasta? is it okay? What type of wheat products are okay for A'a. If not wheat, what is safe for us A's. As a side note to all blood type A's, I just recently bought some Ezekial bread, the sprouted kind, and it absolutely delicious, don't know if I can go back to eating shelf bread again, probably not. I read in the ER4YT book that it is highly beneficial. I would recommend it for all type A's. I found out that certain Food Lion stores carry it, the ones that have the organic food lines, and it is a little bit less expensive than health food stores or Kroger's.

check all your allowed grains listed in your book, those will be fine for you.
also typebase has the most up to date values if in doubt.....
try to get the LRFYT book from your library, cause that one has the non secretor issue and also the values in food change slightly

Find out your secretor status! ::)

I was diagnosed with allergies to wheat and the status just confirmed it. The benifit I found when I cut it out was that the brain fog I had just finally went away (w/o all the coffee)!

I like rice, ammarath, quinoa and millet. Buckwheat is not really a wheat and spelt is ok if you body can digest it.

Want to hear something odd? I was tested by blood work for an allergy to wheat, which came back negative..and then I was tested for seasonal allergies via blood work again and it came back positive for an allergy to "grass".  Wheat is a grass.

If the products have wheat in them and you are allergic, I'd stay away from it..I've looked at the Kashi boxes, hoping the wheat in the ingredients would disappear...but it's still there..lol.

Now Ribbit however, stated on  another thread that since she's been following the Warrior diet, she can now tolerate wheat again which makes me hopeful..Dr. D also told me that the Warrior diet should greatly help my sensitivities..It's been 2 weeks so far and I'm feeling some good changes happening..

I'm staying away from all wheat (sigh).  I just find that I don't do so well on it.  I did SO like sprouted grain bread (Ezekiel) and it was SO delicious, but it's not for me.

Interestingly, it's contraindicated for my Teacher self.  Interesting, no?

I think it is cases like this that the exploration of Genotype comes into its own. For instance, for 6 years plus I was on the A diet which meant no wholemeal wheat, always a little bit of refined wheatflour products, but now that As can be sorted into 3 different streams due to other perametres, I find that I can after all tolerate wholemeal, even if some other As can't. It has been a real bonus and improvement in my digestion. Equally I can enjoy red wine, whereas some other As should not.8)

I am also a fan of Ezekiel Bread and seem to tolerate it well.  I do not know my secretor status, but I do know that I cannot eat whole wheat products (unless I want to having a burning sensation in my chest for hours afterward).  

All that being said, I suspect my son is actually allergic to wheat so I purchased "China Black Rice" bread.  I tried a piece myself and now I am hooked!  I have Ezekiel bread on hand, but it's the Black Rice bread I keeping reaching for.

Yes!  It's true!  I was on the BTD for 3 years and now on the Warrior diet I am suddenly able to eat wheat again with no side affects.  It used to give me terrible constipation as well as the typical brain fog, depression, and sluggishness.

We like the China Black Rice bread too.  Used to eat a good bit of it before we finally got to where we just didn't need bread like we did.  We ate it slightly toasted--holds together better.

As was stated, spelt is a nice alternative if you can tolerate it.  Tinkyada brand rice pasta is amazing stuff.  Tastes and looks just like wheat pasta.  Whole Foods carries it.
