OK, first post in eons (used to be on the old board).  Been BTD since '98 with great success.  Got the GTD book in the first shipping.  Wife is O-non, but we're both GT2-Gatherer.

Here's my observation.  Unless I'm reading the list wrong (and I've read it over very carefully), we now get corn as a neutral!?  Not popcorn, not corn oil, not high fructose corn syrup, not grits and their derivatives, but no prohibition on sweet corn (or, even normal corn syrup?!)

Somehow, this seems like sacrilege.  Or, am I just missing something?

You are correct that sweet corn was not identified as a seperate food item. Given the consistent ratings of other corn products, it is reasonable to think that sweet corn and other unnamed corn would have the same rating as those, rather than being an unlisted neutral.

That is how I am treating it.

I agree Lloyd.  Guess I'm just sort of wondering about the absence of a neutral list - been reading elsewhere on the forum about that question.  Without a neutral list, we're left wondering about some stuff, corn being one of the "biggies" in my book.

I don't plan on eating sweet corn either - been an "O" for too long, I guess.  The "big three" culprits, wheat, corn & dairy - hard to shake a practice of nearly 10 years.

You could take this simple approach:

Lists have never been complete. BTD assumes untested items are neutral. Another thing some members do is compile their own neutral lists based on foods they know have been looked at for other GT's. This may help you with some foods, but not for others.

hanahan, you made me laugh with the "girlyman" moniker....is that because the gatherer has the longer index fingers? yeah, well there's lots of manly men gatherers too! (like my DH!) And Don! ;)

The debate was posted on the GTD forum whether it is corn, popcorn or should be corn; popcorn.  There are some multiple items in some GTs that separate by a comma too.  It is hard to distinguish.

Speaking of syntax, under Warrior Dairy, it says "Whey protein powder yogurt."  I assume it's supposed to be:

Whey protein powder
Yogurt
