BTD Forums  /  Live Right 4 Your Type  /  How to boost a baby's immune system

My grandson is a 9 month old Type A baby.  His mom asked me to ask you what foods she can feed him to boost him immune system.  She is a believer in the BTD and is also an A.  She is the one who introduced it to me years ago, but with a baby to care for she does not have much computer time.

So what words of wisdom you give me, I will pass on to her.

Thank you so much.  With all the immunizations that babies get these days, she wants his immune system to be strong.

Proberry, or blueberry, black cherry, or elerberry juice (or concentrates).  We mix the concentrates with apple juice for my little one.  One at a time or all together.

Are your little ones about the same age as my grandchild?  I hope I can find blueberry or black cherry juice.  Don't think I will be able to find elderberry.  Thank you very much.

My DD is 3.5 almost 4, and is an O.  We have been mainly using the concentrates mixed with juice and water.  About 4 oz of each water and juice and about 1 1/2 tsp. concentrate.  I would like to say she only gets this a couple times a day, but she won't drink water.  She has only been sick 2 time (knock on wood).  Her favorite food is frozen bluberries, thou I wouldn't give frozen ones to the little on just yet.  But you could also try blueberry and cherry purees.

We can only find the elderberry in concentrate form.  We use the Natural Sources brand.  I don't know of a store that carries it.  I have a friend who belongs to a food coop that orders it for me.  I even like it mixed with some apple juice.  This is it

I would also stick to a lot of Bennies, that will help also.

He is just learning to eat foods that are not baby food, like crackers and baby food.  I guess it is okay to give him fresh fruit pureed, or is it too early?

Nope, not to early.  You could also give him small chunks of over ripe fruit, greenbeans, peas, beets, and carrots (all veggies cooked really soft or canned).  There are also a few compliant type cherri-o's type cereals out there, and we used rice chex and unsalted rice cakes.  Try one thing every few days to make sure there is no reactions.

I also made smoothies with fruit, some ot the "sweet" veggies and formula.  We kept certain sippy cup stopper that we made bigger for her to use to drink the smoothies.

would go for colostrum powder, but please have an eye on it should be lactose & casein free, or go for goat colostrum, even better....(dance)(smarty)(clap)(sunny)
