Hi everyone!

I re-read the thread on coconut oil and Dr. D's column.  Wondering if palm fruit oil would be in the same catagory as the coconut oil.  I ask cause I found a soy based buttery spread made with the palm fruit oil, and it is to die for!!  (Not really to die, but it is soooo good!).

Is there any information on the site for palm fruit oil?

Peace.   :)

Depending on where it falls in the list of ing it might just be for color.  Palm fruit (I call them nuts) produce a red oil in the cooking process.  So,  much like our great great grandmothers colored their butter with a grated carrot this might be what the Palm fruit does ot your soy spread

This is good news!  I've checked the other ingredients quickly and didn't notice any avoids, but will check closer.  This product (Earth Balance) was made with caragenan at one time, but not anymore.

Thank you both!
