It seems I am having a reaction from eating spelt flour.  Last week I had whole spelt (cooked for cereal) then I had homemade spelt pizza crust on the weekend.

Well I've been suffering with colitis ever since.  I guess me and spelt just don't get along anymore.

Any suggestions for healing the pain on my lower left side besides slippery elm?

please have an eye into the protocols against inflammations and in the encyclopedia there are special recommendations especially for this sickness :D ...good luck to you :K)

Thanks.  I just purchased Intestinew by Renew Life. The ingredients are as follows:
L-Glutamine  5,000 mg
NAG 200 mg
Gamma Oryzanol 125 mg
Cranesbill Root 19 mg
Ginger Root 19 mg
Marigold Flower 19 mg
Marshmallow Root 19 mg

I take 1 tsp every morning in water when I first arise and it helps to rebuild the intestinal lining.  I believe I have been damaged from an acute gastrointestinal illness I had 2 years ago and never really recovered.

I d check those supplements against the encyclopedia or using the
general search button on the home page to check on compatibility.

I don't eat spelt anymore.  I have found that all the gluten containing grains give me severe chronic intestinal problems.  Millet is good for us B nonnies, and a small amount of rice.  We really don't need or thrive on large amounts of grains.

Lola's right.  You should definitely check the ingredients on that Intestinew against what's in the BTD Encyclopedia for your type.

I used to use the ReNew Life products more, until I realized that they contained things like aloe, which is definitely a no-no for my type.  

Finally, I would very much recommend Dr. D's Deflect supplement, along with whatever he has listed in his Blood Type Encyclopedia, under "anti-bacterial" and "anti-inflammatory" protocols.  I had colitis just like you, for 21 years, and his diet has totally knocked it out for me.

Yeah, my guts improved hugely after I quit wheat & corn, and even improved more when I ditched the spelt. Sigh. Basically, bye-bye glutens.

Thanks for your help.  I will have to just work at it I guess.  I have been on a merry go round with my digestive system these past 4 weeks and the colitis goes and then returns.  I believe certain diet changes I made during my stomach flare-up caused a lack of bulky stools which irritated my lower colon.  So here I go again trying to continue the healing process.

Another thing that stopped my colitis cold, was eating the grass-fed, lean red meat, cooked no better than medium rare.  

My system now thrives on a nice, juicy, pink-red steak.

Oh yes!! Nothing better than a med rare to rare fillet mignon!! wish I could afford to eat ONLY that meat. :-)
