Any suggestions to what would be good to pack in a lunch, it can be put in the fridge but no heat source, also a snack.

Also what effects does ephedra have on A's?  A couple of acquaintances take it and are raving about it.

I find that the easiest, quickest lunch is something like carrot sticks, a handful of walnuts or similar and a couple of rye crackers or oatcakes.  You can even add some soy yogurt - on the side (I like mine with some maple syrup or some kind of fruit jam - 100% fruit and fruit juices).

Quite often, though, I pack my veg leftovers (e.g. green beans with toasted pumpkin seeds and tofu/fish bits).  I don't feel the need to reheat that sort of leftover, even when I'm at home  ;)

Once, as a special treat, I made buckwheat pancakes which I used as the base for a smoked salmon "roll": delicious!

I normally prepare everything the night before so that in the morning I just get it out of the fridge and voila': lunch's ready!   ;D

So would you say it's an older way of thinking that I need protein at every meal?

As can build complete protein combos .........
Legumes + seeds
Legumes + nuts
Legumes + dairy
Grains + legumes
Grains + dairy
so being an A, you can think outside the meat protein box.....
ofcourse soy, and fish and poultry are also complete proteins for you.

ephedra has health risks (sudden cardiac death being one and A's are most susceptible to cardiac infractions) and many complaints from consumers associated with it's use

I often make A hubbie lunch & leave in the fridge the night before - spelt sandwich or buns - soycheese spread with allfruit jam, peanut butter with yeast spread, honey with mozarella. If we have leftover cooked chicken that's ok cold with a tub of salad (lettuce, cucumber,olives, raw mushroom, sometimes cooked beans, herbs etc, with or without lemon oliveoil dressing). Snacks - homemade spelt muffin, peanut candy, oat bar, compliant nuts and dried fruit, dairyfree chocolate, apple.

I will make a tortilla rollup when I need to eat away from home.

I use Ezekiel tortillas and spread a thin layer of goat cheese on the flat bread then add a huge amount of field greens lettuce mix and roll this up. Sometimes I will take a hard boiled egg for my protein source or I add cooked turkey sausage or black beans to the tortilla before I roll it up.

This makes a great meal on the go.

How are the Ezekiel tortillas as far as texture and taste? I see them in the stores, but have not ventured to actually buy them...

I find the texture and taste of the Ezekiel tortillas are great. I actually prefer them to regular wheat ones. They are a little thicker and seem to have more substance to them. They also make a great thin crust for pizza.

I separate them as soon as I get home from the store by putting a sheet of wax paper between each one. Need to let them defrost for a few minutes for this, then refreeze so they are always fresh.

Are the Ezekiel tortillas found in the frozen section at your grocery store? I havent seen them, but now that I know they exist I will look for them. If theyre anything like Ezekiel bread Im bound to love them!

Yes, the Ezekiel tortillas are found in the frozen section at both of my health food stores. The same company also makes a rice tortilla which is Gluten free.

I have bought the rice tortillas a couple of times, and while they taste great, one ingredient is an avoid: Vegetable gum(xanthan, cellulouse).
