A dear friend  Blood Type O has Diabetes.
She is not over weight and I don't know if she is a secretor or not.

Recently she said nothing (food) sounds good  which she thought might be bc of  her meds.

I ask her about enzymes and she remembered she had run out and forgot about them --- so she got some last week.

I got her the Diabetes book and she is struggling along. Says she is so tired . I suggested she may not be eating enough. I know stress is an issue. Her husband is ill and they have been remodeling the house.


O's with Diabetes - what can you give me to share with my dear friend.
Is there something that stands out to you as a crucial do or don't. Some food tip or just anything that might help her.

Thank you for any help or encouragement I can pass on to her.

Have her consider some of the protocols in the diabetes book.  She should NOT take any supplements at the same time she takes prescribed meds.  At least an hour apart; two is better.

Get her on ghee & ARA6, and stress how important the secretor test is with her health challenge.  I would consider it the #1 thing she needs to do, even before the protocols.

Do you know if she is Type 1 or Type 2? I am Type 1 and am a non-secretor.

Sometimes we O-nonnies have anxiety problems.  We're prone to that, you know.  And, what's more, it leaves you very, very tired.

You might want to have her try the anti-stress protocol in the Blood Type Encyclopedia... particularly with an emphasis on the non-secretor variation of the protocol, which includes maitake mushroom and 5-HTP.  I have to say that I feel much, much better since I started on it.

North American Pharmacal (Dr. D's company) now sells a blood sugar reduction formula he calls "Glycosia".  I used it myself, and it's very, very good.  Also, his "Deflect" formula is loaded with all sorts of stuff to clean out Type O's lectins and get them running much more cleanly.  I use it periodically, and it has definitely helped.

You might want to encourage her to buy some Carrot Raisin Manna Bread, for when she gets a sweet tooth.  I eat it every now and then, and it's awesome.

Finally, suggest to her that she get into a good woman's self-defense class... something nice and aggressive.  Type O's love to fight, and it sucks the sugars right out of our bloodstreams.  Wakes us up, too.

Sierradawn - She has Type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes protocols ???- I have no idea what they are - gave  her the book cold turkey and said this might help. Pretty lame huh. She knows I'm benefiting from my type A nonnie plan.
I'll try for a copy of Diabetes bk from the library.

   Would this product I get locally be ok?:
     1.5 g   buffered C
    450  mg Calcium carbonate
    350  mg magnesium carbonate
    100  mg potassium bicarbonate
    1       g  Western Larch

I agree Secretor  status is primary impor but can't see it happening this soon.

Ronagon - I know how damaging anxiety is but I'm confused - the encyclopedia and the on line protocols  are dif. How to make sense? What particularly helps you?

How does the Glycosia work? Did you have to change/adj meds while taking it?

The Exercise idea gave me a tickle. We are both in our 60's; but I do know how I feel when I don't get my wimpy A nonnie workout. LOL  It's true O's run circles ariund A's

I woke up this AM thinking I should be more clear.

My friend is brand new. I don't think she has read any of Dr. D's books. So she is starting from Zero. (she has the Diabetes bk I just gave her)

She is careful about her reg diabetes diet but the  blood type O twist is brand new.

So anything you can share will help. I know the reg diabetes diet is already restricted - was it hard to give up  more foods and how did you physically feel. Was there a food or change you made that  caused you to  feel a shift forward or back?  ( example: for me getting 99% off even neutral Dairy has helped my sinuses/allergies tremendously)

I'm going to  share all your suggestions with her.

In the Diabetes book you just gave her, after the food lists, there are supplementation protocols that are recommended.  She should start there.

ARA6 = Dr. D product which is 100% Larch arabinogalactan and is pharmecutical grade, not just food grade Larch.

Get her interested in looking at Live Right 4 Your Type.  This is the one-stop, explains the whole program in detail from food choices, secretor status, exercise regemins and strategies for dealing with stress.

along with the O diet I would suggest Glycoscia... it's made for people with blood sugar problems and I would also recommend she look into taking Quercetin

tell her to stay clear of wheat, potatoes and corn
