BTD Forums  /  Supp Right For Your Type  /  Vit C Ideas For O Secretor?

Hi... since I have hemochromotosis, I cannot take Vit. C supplements and it is recommended that I supp. with natural food sources.

So I've been juicing a lemon in the morning and downing that mixed in water.  I was wondering if anyone had any further ideas that maybe I could add to the regime to get more vit. C. that would fit into the 'O' protocols.

What I'm looking for is some more high vit. c fruit that I could maybe juice into the lemon juice and make a sort of Vit. C cocktail.

thanks!

You might try mango, the fresh fruit and the puree both have a good amount of C. Also, could you do rosehip supplements? Rosehips are very high in vitamin C.

FM,
Do you have a maximum amount of vit. C that you can safely consume daily?

Compliant citrus fruit rind contains alot of vitamin c (favor organic, since you are eating the rind), rose hips, and broccoli.

Its actually the Bioflavonoids in the rind...which help metabolize the Vitamin C...

In Descending order from Danish, Japanese, US, and Finnish Nutrition Databases:
Acerola, Rose Hip RAW, Coriander Leaf Dried, and fresh Parsley rock the scales more than anything else. Below that you have all sorts but Guava, Kale, and Black Currant are good.
Freeze-Dried Peppers are even higher than Acerolas.
Amla fruit is one of the highest natural foods, but untested.

The Japanese list has something called "Tomapi" - I have nooo idea.
Maybe a cross of Tomato and Pepper... ??)

In the Aging Book by Dr. D., on page 57, under Cognitive Health for type O's, he lists Amla: 250 mg. capsules to be taken 1 to 2 caps/daily.
