Any ideas on how I can make a pizza that would be good for O-nonnies?  Grain-free, dairy-free, citrus-free, and completely legal for o-nons?

Just wondering!  My hubby said he was just dreaming of me making a pizza!  Sounds good, but not sure how.  He is a B, so it needs to be tomato-free as well.

Thanks for any recipes or ideas?  Guess I could use almond flour for crust?

There is the no-tomato sauce in recibase made from carrots and beets...

There is absolutely NO dairy cheese for O-Nonnie, so not sure what to sub for that...

You can use any compliant veggies and pineapple, as well as a plethora of meat for toppings...

Soy lecithin granules is a nice touch for those of us who cannot have cheese. :D

If it's any help, I use unhulled tahini or brewer's yeast mixed with ghee as subs for cheese (put it on after baking though) .  We make compliant nachos using crispy baked sweet potato as a sub for corn chips, but maybe you could make mini-pizzas on slices of sweet potato or as Lola suggested some portabello mushrooms

Sauteed thinly sliced onions are very nice on pizza.  With or without tomato sauce, use garlic and oregano to give that pizza flavor with your portabello.  Fresh spinach leaves - wilted from the heat are a nice touch.

Pesto instead of tomato sauce is also very yummy, though I beleive it would have to be homemade to avoid pinenuts, cheese and avoid oils. I am not sure there are any grains (flours) a nonnie can use.  If there are, such as rice, a nice pesto sauce with veggies is really great.  Add some onions, carmalized and you will never miss the cheese.

Homemade Sausage  (No Pig)

1t sea salt (or salt)
1t freshly ground peppercorn
1t garlic powder (or use fresh garlic)
1 pinch allspice
1t sage
1/4t tyme
1 pinch or more cayenne
1 pinch grated lemon peel
1lb og ground beef or turkey or venison
1/8 c warm water

Put all spices into warm water,  than add to meat (recipe says to make into patties and cook)

My suggestion (for pizza= give spices a chance to absorb into meat of choice and than cook up and drain before using as a topping.

Zucchini Pizza Crust

Grate zucchini salt it and set it aside for about 30 minutes-1 hour.
Squeeze zucchini out tightly, there will be liquid to squeeze out.
You will need 3-4 cups of grated zacchini per crust.
Add 3 eggs (or 6 egg whites)
Add 1/2 cup of mozzarella (non compliant may use nutritional yeast)
Add spices you like on pizza in this crust mixture.
maybe basil, oregano,cumin, garlic powder.
Put this mixture in a 9 X 12 pan, or on a pizza stone in oven
that has been preheated to 350 Degrees F. for 20 minutes
Remove from oven, turn broiler on and broil about 5 minutes till brown.Than remove from broiler, turn oven back to 350 and add the pizza sauce, and other toppings you enjoy on pizza, cook for another 20 minutes. May than add cheese and cook until it melts.

No Tomato Pizza Sauce

2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon oregano powder
3 drops anise flavoring
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 teaspoons dried parsley
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 /2 cup water
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, than add anise flavoring and water.
Looks like spaghetti sauce, with a rubber spatula, spread a litttle
heavier at edges, than add your favorite toppings. A little goes a long way.
Than bake as usual.

I think pine-nuts used to be an avoid for O's but now it is listed as neutral for O's in the Typebase!

Perhaps use thinly sliced jicama or zucchini for the crust.  Or try using a nori sheet(s) as a base for the pizza.  Add any compliant vegetables, top with nutritional yeast and pizza seasoning spices.

I find sliced roma tomatoes on top, with a sprinking of nutritional yeast and italian herbs makes a fine substitute for cheese.  They retain some moisture through the baking process, and that moisture I think is what reminds me of cheese.

Unfortunately, nutritional yeast seems problematic for me as well.  It causes major tummy troubles.   :(  I have been debating even trying the NAP Polyflora because of the brewer's yeast.  I think I am sensitive to ANY type of yeast at all.

I don't get it!

the sausage you can add under any of the protein sources given......

the no tomato sauce, I d add it to the tomatoes.......for the sake of 'alternatives' lol
