BTD Forums  /  Supp Right For Your Type  /  Safe Cosmetics for 0 nonies?

Hello,
Can anyone tell me if there are any safe cosmetics for 0 non-secreters that Dr. D. recommends or someone knows about?

I got thinking especially about lipstick...you ingest it with the wearing of it and wheat and corn or something else could be in it.
Also since you absorb things through your skin liquid foundation could prove a culprit.

I've been removing my eye makeup with almond or grapeseen oil on cotton (olive oil burns my eyes), washing my face with "Really Raw Honey" (maybe I should switch to Agave Nector?) and use olive oil for a moisterizer.

Still use a commercial under eye cream though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Paula Begoun has a great website, has done tons of research, I trust her, tho we will each have our own reactions to differing cosmetic or skin maintenance items. I have been a long time fan of her top-to-toe body shampoo, no scent, works like a charm, no itchies anywhere, ahem, from it. Look up http://www.cosmeticscop.com or I think Paula's Choice.

I would be more worried on making the right food choices..........

I use Arbonne make up and am very happy with it.  I guess the site is

They are natural products...

I believe I  read somewhere in the NAP link when John Harris was in the company that he recommended Aubrey Organics products.  They make very limited makeup choices, although there are some.

The suggested use of avoids applies to ingesting them because they enter the digestive system, not external use.

I am cautionary with products that come in relatively close contact with my mouth; I use natural or organic products on my face and body as our skin absorbs much of what we put on it.

Thanks, OSuzanna, for the "cosmeticscop.com" site. I look forward to perusing it when I have a few minutes.

Yes, Lola, I agree that food choices are way more important than what goes on the face. Right now I'm 100% compliant on the food front. Guess that frees up my time to consider the external stuff.

Thanks, Tina, for the Arbonne suggestion. I do use their #12 Foundation because it is a true pink based color but much too dark and mix it with a pink Cover Girl Foundation (shudder) to get a usable shade. Also use Arbonne blush, eye shadow and lipstick. Very color intense.

Thanks, AliaVo, for the "healthfoodemporium" link--it's on my plate to look over.
I read that what you put on your skin is absorbed directly into your blood stream and into your internal organs..so I'm wary and cautious but vanity  plays a role here too.

I look for natural skincare and cosmetics because any product(s) that are applied to the skin will most likely be absorbed.

I was told this by a friend who sells it. She was told the same thing. I told her I wouldn't buy any until I could see the ingredients. She sent me a link and told me maybe I would know what some of the ingreds were since i was more into health than she. Uh, no............you would absolutely have to be a chemist to understand all that. I chose not to use it.  :-/
The little gal I go to for massage used to carry this and everything i saw in her place had tons of 'i have no idea what that ingred is' ingredients in them.  :-/
Thanks for all the tips gals!! Would love to find some cleaner make up. :-)
