BTD Forums  /  Cook Right 4 Your Type  /  Wonderful New Tomato-based Pasta Sauce!

I just made an excellent pasta sauce that I want to share.

Please check for Blood Type Compliance--Think its good for AB's, but probably not As because of the tomatoes.

It's this simple:

Open your favorite bottle of jar sauce--or make your own and heat it on low.

While it is heating, pan toast walnut pieces in ghee, or olive oil.

After walnuts are toasted, add them to heated sauce and use as you would any marinara/spaghetti sauce per your own BT.

My gosh this was good!

However, I "know" I'm not supposed to eat tomatoes b/c of Arthritis--but just had about a 1/4 cup--so hopefully I won't be crying about it later.

;-)

My.

Thank you for sharing this with us, Myra.

You may want to add it to the Recipe Index.

New -trying this recipe-check ingredients on jar many have corn syrup in them

I have been adding broken pieces of walnuts to my ground beef concoction but I will have to try browing in ghee or olive oil first, sounds so good! Thanks

Thanks for the reminder about the corn syrup potential--

Also, I was thinking that for those who prefer to soak their walnuts overnight in water, this recipe would also work for them--just toast after the fact.

Myra, how is the arthritis after you ate it....I just can't get away with it! (I do it once in awhile anyway)

I think its OK,  but when I first got up this morning I had to use my electric power chair to get going....so on second thought, I guess my arthritis is not OK.   :(

Thanks for asking--and it sure was good!

This recipe is a keeper MyraBee! I second Alia's vote to add to the recipe base. :)

If you would like to try a sauce without tomatoes in it that is very walnut-friendly, how about pesto? Toast the walnuts and add before serving--yummy! I like this on Tinkyada fettucine. Lots of basil, garlic, toasted walnuts, a little grated pecorino, and first-pressing extra virgin olive oil. :)
