It would really depend on his secretor status.
Even though at best would still be Neutral.
Realisticly they're still avoids.

Why would port and sherry be avoids ??? - made of grapes....
I have absolutely no reaction to them- except if I drink to much ;-D

How different is port from red wine?  I've only had it a few times, and it just tastes like raisins to me.  Is it mixed with something else?

I have a similar question about vinegars.  If we can have raspberries, red wine, and apple cider vinegar, why can't we have raspberry and/or red wine vinegar?

sherry and port would be less healthful, but not necessarily  avoids...the sugar and alcohol content is higher than wine, but if you are in good health those should be ok....sake....don't know. maybe, since its rice wine.*

cider vinegar has beneficial enzymes and has a less acidic ph than wine vinegar, which I understand is quite acidic, and we O's already have an abundance of acid.....

Well, white wine is clearly made from grapes and is a clear avoid. That said, ideally alcoholic beverages are indulgences, so in small quantities it should be ok... I know that drinking white wine always makes me feel rather run down the next day, but one glass is about all right.

I assumed that white wine was more acidic (don't know why I thought that...) and that that was the reason they are avoids....I like white wine as well as red, tho' drink it less often and it never bothers me, likewise port and sherry...I think it is sad when people let alcohol get the upper hand and then they "use up  their privileges" and can no longer savor wine...

Currently, sake is not rated.  It is usually made from white rice, which is neutral or beneficial for most blood groups.

However, the process of making sake may render it an avoid beverage/alcohol.

Thank you all for your replies! I can't drink red wine at all - it puts me immediately to sleep, but my husbands enjoys it very much. He was thrilled that port and sherry are possible OKs! :-)

AVOID ... not for this B
Anyway both red, white and rose is made from grapes....so is sherry and port.

It is true some port taste like raisins- but not all of them,
I like a glass of port with a piece of really good chocolate - It is mainly somthing I have around christmas....

Sadly port and muscat (in Australia anyway) are a 'fortified' wine, they have their alcohol content boosted by brandy or whiskey..... Not sure about sherry as didn't really get into that.
We do still have a little port or muscat espec in cold weather. It is generally too sweet to down a wineglassful!

Port should only be fortified with nthe addition of distilled grape spirits- not grain spirits like whisky !

Sherry( from wikipedia)

Sherry differs from other wines because of how it is treated after fermentation. After fermentation is complete, it is first fortified with brandy and then if destined to be fino style a yeast called flor is allowed to grow on top. Oloroso style is fortified to a strength where the flor cannot grow. Because the fortification takes place after fermentation, all natural sherries are dry; any sweetness is applied later.
In contrast, port wine is fortified half way through fermentation, stopping fermentation so not all the sugars are allowed to turn into alcohol and so leaving a sweet wine.


NOW I know liquor / destilled) is an avoid for almost all types...
But I donīt think that that would mean sherry or port...
IT is really something that one does not drink too much of anyway.

Those of us who have to treat sugar as an avoid would probably want to avoid drinking a beverage that had added sugars after the fermentation.

sugar and alcohol have to be used with skill by anyone wishing to partake. small amounts....savored slowly...I like to use a teeny tiny glass.

What about brandy?  I'm using some flower essences that come either in white vinegar or brandy.  I couldn't figure out which to choose so I am trying brandy, but unsure of status for Type O's.

Harvey's Bristol Cream over ice sounds nice.  I don't think I've had any Harvey's in years!
With a book, in front of the fireplace, sounds great.  
Wow, it got cold this week, didn't it?  Friday's supposed to really be cold and I'm headed up to Loon.
