Do you take anything for anxiety/panic and stress?
I take a cortisol reducer and Brewers Yeast, I was thinking I should take St. John's Wort?

What do you think? and if you do take it how much and how often?

As a blood type A, I've taken NAP's Cortiguard.  I do not currently take any supplements for stress.  I find that prayer, yoga, and alternate nostril breathing have helped me without using supplements.

Have you tried the Determinator to check what it may suggest for anxiety/panic/stress?

I have not tried cortiguard.

Brewers Yeast does not seem to improve my overall health. I noticed no affect on stress.
St. John's wort does not help me.

Magnesium helps me some.

I do take the NAP's Cortiguard with great results. Reminds me time to stock up again.

I take 'Relora'.  It does help but sometimes I feel I need something a bit more, not always, just when I'm not 'balanced'.

I take 5HTP as a natural alternative to Paxil for depression/anxiety. Theanine for relaxation/anxiety, also B-12 (methylcobalamin) and add holy basil when really stressed like now working 10-12 hour days. Doesn't St. John's Wort affect sleep patterns?

I'm taking one 300 mg capsules everyday, it says to take 1-2 so I'm going to up it to 2 and see how that goes.  

I now think my anxiety/panic is hormonally brought on, if any of the other times in the past have been coincidently around the same few days before.  :-/

I recently got some homeopathic stree lozenges in WF.  They are in a little box and are plainly marked "Stress Mints".  The reason that I actually purchased them was the phase underneath the words Stress Mints - Relax in a New York Minute.  (I used to live there)

I've taken maybe two during a one day period and so far I think they're great for short term stress situations.

I'm also a fan of Rescue Remedy.

Hi Oonu,

Sorry I react a bit late..  ::)  I take 1 caps. of Cortiguard and 1 of St. Johns Wort every day.

St. John's Wort doesn't cause any skinrash nor flushing with me.
My SJW contains 300 mg standardised powder en 100 mg raw herb powder in each capsule, so I take 400 mg a day..

I tried to diminish my dose of SJW but that causes anxiety after 2 days of abstention.  :(

I have taken St. Johns Wort in the past and it worked great for me.  I've also taken a combination supplement with Holy Basil, Gingko and Eleuthero and it worked great.

Have to add that I saw no negative affects at all from SJW.  I take it during the summer and I still spend a lot of time in the sun and wasn't anymore sensitive to the sun than I normally would be and I had no rash.  It helped with sleep but I think the Holy Basil, Gingko worked better for sleeping but not as much for anxiety.

I take 303's.  Its homeopathic.  (Valerian root, Passiflora, & Magnesium Carbonate.)
I don't know if it's right for us but it does calm me.   There is so much I haven't thought to look at yet.

Hello everyone & Happy New Year!

Enjoyed reading what works for you.

I have read that too much St. John's Wort can be toxic if taken over a long period of time. (But OK as short term solution.) Brewer's Yeast gives me gas.

So, this is what I do:

1.  Vitamin Bs, E and C
2.  Cortiguard
3.  Chinese herbs (very useful, but you need to see a professional)
4.  Acupuncture and/or shiatsu
5.  Yoga
6.  Melantonin (sometimes)
7.  Meditation (meditate on how it must be like to be a "B")
8.  Herb tea like chamomile
9.  Soak in a bath for at least 15 min. with special hot spring salts
10.  Shopping (when it is not crowded)

I also try to identify what stresses me out and if I cannot avoid the stressor, take steps beforehand and after to destress.

Back to work....where did I put the Cortiguard?  ;)
