O.K. my blood work came back 3 weeks ago and my Iron levels are 11 !! My Dr. says womens Iron stores should always be around 200-250. So he has me taking a supplement by " Life extension" called Iron protein plus ( 300 mg of Iron protein succinylate) and I've been taling 6 a day. Well did another blood test last week and my levels are now at 18 !!!!  Why am I having such a hard time...I'm dead tired all the time....and bonus about to start my monthly cycle so my levels will drop to below 11 again..... HELP and I'm not willing to eat liver !!

How about spinach and raisens? Seriously if it is that low has he investigated for an underlying medical condition?

girly-in the encyclopedia iron citrate is recommended for AB's.

I took some good stuffs from N.F---35mg's + B12 and Vit.C...worked amazingly; but you have to have a bit more patience...= some months will be needed for getting your iron ok.......can't tell you about Köhlers inzelloval...because they arent' to be found in USA,nor Canada :'( soooo sorry for U :K)

Flora makes a very nice iron product called Floradix and also Floravital.  Focusing on beneficials would be helpful.  Eating lots of greens helps to increase folic acid which seems to be related to iron levels.  Do you have celiac disease?

I was taking floradix regularly but to increase my iron sufficiently I would need to take 30 bottles my Dr. said !!!!!
I tried iron citrate once...can you spell C O N S T I P A T I O N ?????
I am craving Steak, bananas and almond butter.... Yes I am an AB.....I said craving, haven't eaten the steak or bananas.....yet.....

Flora uses a different way to report the dosage.  Please call the company directly to ask them about the mg of iron in each serving.

I also suspect that your doctor is using the wrong scale.  It seems the lab is using a different scale from what your doctor expects?  Maybe you could get verification of that from a nurse or from the lab.

Dairy may inhibit iron absorption so take it separate.

Liver, liver liver that is all I can say, it is the quickest most easily asorbable way for your body to increase iron levels

Perhaps a sublingual B12 (methylcobalamine)/Folic Acid would help in conjunction with the iron.

I do not see chicken liver as an avoid for type A's or turkey liver.........do you see these listed as avoids/

The only liver mentioned in the typebase is calf liver which is an avoid for A's, both secretor and non. I wonder if it's because it's part of the cow (also an avoid), or if there's some issue with the liver itself? Curious.

I cannot bring myself to eat an organ that filters all toxins and herbicides and pesticides out of the body...doesn't matter if it's chicken, beef or what....I just can imagine it to be healthy....

I agree, it just doesn't make sense, but folks have been eating it for centuries.  Not me though, like you, I just can't do it.  As an O, we have other organs on our bennie list that I just won't do it  ::).  I am having a hard time even eating meat!! I toyed with the idea of ordering half or quarter steer, but just can't bring myself to do it  :'( , LOL.  I am trying to think of my beef and buffalo as bennies and not as, well.........what they are  ::)  How I really would have liked to be the blood type that eats vegetarian style  ;)  When spinach comes back, that should help.

Also, in another thread they mentioned needing vit. A and C for your body to absorb and use iron.  Another thing to consider.  If you are low in A or C but not really the iron, would that cause the elimination problems?
