Well, thrill of all thrills, I noticed yesterday I seemed to be feeling like I was getting an ulcer or something on the left side of my mouth, back by my tooth.  Last night, my tongue began a burning sensation.  All day it has felt swollen and burning.  What could this be?  I haven't eaten anything different!

try mouthwashes with baking soda.......or sea salt.......

Do you drink Matte?  When I first started drinking Matte, it was fine, then all of the sudden, each time I drank it it would make my tongue burn for hours.  After a while, even a sip would do it.

Matte is out for me.  I have a similar reaction to roobios tea, too, but not nearly as bad....

Have you eaten/drunk anything that is not usually a part of your diet?

Could you be harboring a case of Thrush/Candida?

Any larger than usual amounts of acidic foods, such as strawberries or pineapples?

The only thing I finally realized is that for a couple nights in a row, I ate a handful of dried mango slices.  They were so SUPER sweet, and I think they actually burnt my tongue.  Haven't had any since yesterday afternoon and my mouth is much better today.  

There was no added sugar on the mango slices or anything, just pure, but I think I ate too many at once also, well, I know I did one night.  Could be candida flaring from it, but it seems more like a burning/swollen type thing, like acid on my tongue!.

I get a similar reaction to eating too many dried organic unsweetened pineapple slices. Nothing but pineapple in them, but too many often burns the inside of my mouth.

For a while I was drinking mango puree in my Berry Berry Good Soda mix, and began to get ulcers on my gums and tongue--nothing bad, sort of like the kind you get when you eat a lot of pineapple--except they got steadily worse. I stopped adding the mango, and the ulcers went away.

Yes, that is the way mine were.  Doesn't seem to happen with fresh mango, just the dried.  Don't know why.

What is this Berry Berry Good soda mix?

could also be the sulphur in the dried mango slices........just a thought.....

I am pretty certain that there is no sulphur on these.  On ingredients, it just say mangoes.  They are organic and came in a 5 lb. bulk package.  They taste like the real deal, and I don't eat dried fruits with sulphur added.  Can't do those...

I think mango has a naturally high acid level, sort of like citrus. So no mango for me. *sigh*

Tina, Berry Berry Good Soda is my twinnie Peppermint Twist's invention. I find nowhere near the acidity of citrus. Course, I'm eating fresh..... Also eating fresh there is not a large glycemic load because of the fiber content. The GI is 51, ND estimates the glycemic load at 13 (10 = low, 20 = high)
